You're better at this than I am then. There's only one of my firings I can think of that I kind of saw coming; Union saying, "Don't worry, they're harassing you without cause, we'll protect you..." and they didn't. At most though, it came out of the blue. Supervisors and coworkers singing my praises, saying I'm the best at what I do, how I'm so awesome and the customers all love me, "But we're letting you go. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."

The last firing was "Because and only because you're having an emergency hysterectomy and the surgery date (that we picked at your request) is inconvenient. Love you! Buh-bye!"

Work problems: Too many to list.

i have always had trouble with any sort of dress code, even at the most lax jobs.

Not knowing the exact extent of my social dysfunction has caused me many assorted troubles.

I once worked in an office where I did not understand the pecking order, and i was a complete outcast. I was not the only outcast. There was an older South American woman who was also an outcast, and our nasty passive aggressive office manager would pick on us for associating with each other. She called us "Boobie Buddies", because the woman always wanted to talk about Lady issues. She was literally pretty much the only person in the office who would talk to me at all...not that I minded noone talking to me..
There was a girl who asked that her desk be moved because she "Couldn't stand looking at me and could not stand the sound of my breathing" Even though her desk was a good 10-12 feet away from mine. She was the daughter of another woman in the office. There was a clique of women who's perogative it was to belittle everyone else.

oh geeze...really there are too many to list..

I just started a new job and I'm already starting to detest it.

First of all, I'm practically a tele-marketer. Thankfully I don't have to build rapport or anything like that (I almost got fired at my last job because of this) but I have to go through a number of questions for people who receive a free subscription to a magazine. I simply read from the script. I couldn't care less if the person on the line is being rude to me or hangs up. The problem is that this job is terribly monotonous and boring, and I've never talked so much, so fast.

It's a total zoo as well. I've never seen so many adults act like a bunch of obnoxious children. They are constantly yelling, shouting, walking around, leaving unexpectedly...I just can't focus on my calls when these people start making a racket.

I've only worked there for 5 days...if it didn't pay so well I'd be out of there. Also, I'm thankful that no one has been rude to me. Though my supervisor did come up to me. He said "You're all shaky. Like a poodle!" Heh.

I've landed a new job real recently ( within last 1 1/2 month) and I thought I was doing well, until I was called into my boss's office. Apparently, some of my co-workers think I'm bizarre and act odd and they say they have difficulty working with me. [...] Anyone else have this sort of difficulty before, and what did you do to relieve/better the situation?

This is for me a quite common experience and caused a lot a problems in my life.

I am currently looking for a new job and I think that I will deal in future with such situations that I will force myself to keep a low profile.
