Interviewing WP members right here on the forum?
Money is not the only thing I care about; but without money, I could not afford to take care of the other things that I care about, most of which are people.
Then I highly doubt that any person who truly values his or her time will be interested.
I found that those who claim to do things for other people without expecting compensation have either placed no value upon themselves, or they are lying about receiving no compensation. Everybody has their price, if only bragging rights or a "warm, fuzzy" feeling.
Not against their will, anyway. I used to be willing to work solely for "favors" or "future consideration" and ended up homeless as a result. Never again!
Skid Row is full of people who failed to act out of financial self-interest (I am no longer one of them), and there are very few colder and meaner places than Skid Row.
"He" never jokes about wasting personal time and effort for other people's benefit without expecting due compensation.
"He" accepts US bank notes only.

Fnord, you average over 20 posts per day on this forum (even if half of them consist of your signature one-liner "Evidence please?"), and receive no monetary compensation for doing such. Does this mean you do not value your time? What about all the posts you made in Bianca Love's thread warning people to stay away from an anonymous interview? With the amount of time you spent harassing her, you could have sucked it up, done the interview, and actually helped someone.

I do it all for the warm feeling I have from knowing that I have such a loyal fanbase that some will actually count how many posts I make in one day, as well as respond to any post I make, no matter how controversial those posts may be. Thank you ever so much for affirming my very existence!
Besides, there is something of an altruistic side to this: if I can prevent even one WP member from being exploited to advance or enhance some NT's life without receiving due compensation for their time and efforts, then it helps to make up for all those years I spent sucking up to people, giving away my ideas, and letting them tell my life story for their own profit, all in the hopes that I would be accepted as one of them.
If only I had known then what I know now, I'd own a large percentage of the monthly royalties on a book written about homelessness. But I naively and stupidly signed away my street-survival stories for just a few free lunches.
Never Again!
WP is supposed to be a friendly place for Auties and Aspies. If that means that an NT gives a second thought to exploiting even one of us, then I've also done some good, both for myself and for others. And that also gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Something akin to vindication!

Well I found it funny. Are you WP's token curmudgeon? I laughed a little so I guess I owe you some compensation for that. Will a thank you do or do I need to send you some cash now?
Anyone can post questions, provided they're under the T&C of course, respectful, relevant (no identifying details, of course) and serious. Just like any other thread.

Fnord, you're right. Of course there is a monetary compensation. As you say, nobody does anything for free. But since I'm so very looking forward to interviewing you, I'm willing to make an exception and charge you nothing for my time and energy.

I think it might be a good idea to lay out some sort of schedule or pattern. Like, have a new interview each day, and start it at a specific time. Maybe choose randomly from a list of names, to decide who's turn it is? I don't know, just some ideas that popped into my head.

Of course, you must be aware of when a favour pays or when you do not do a favour in vain. I imagine most with an ASD are probably pretty much incapable or struggling at having that sort of knowledge.
I imagine being taken advantage of for numerous times makes people anxious and self-defensive. It destroys the bond of trust and safety towards other people. People might be too paranoid to do favours anymore. While that is ensuring they're protected from further exploitation, the distrust towards others will also make future communication all the more difficult.

okay then, from thhe poll score so far i conclude this is a done deal &
bags of well done Greentea (especially on the fnordic affffffront)
however: number of things to be considered:
(and this will involve certain ITdecisions)
my first thought when this was first posted: but we are getting interviewed -
all that info is available on WP, inasmuch as each individual has or has not filled out those questionaires that are so totally scattered all over the place
in extremis: i would strongly advocate:
1. setting up a separate INSIDE WP forum
(possiblly even with a private subforum, where the more publically worried could be referred to: window: "sorry, this interview is for members only")
2. on this forum, to create archiving of OUR HISTORY:
- an archive thread saving avatars
- same saving signature lines
3. clean up ALL other fora & threads; get rid of all the copied stuff and all the minor inconsequential posting: ie: EDIT THREADS, even EDIT POSTS:
there is so much beatiful to be found in this habitat of ours but we HAVE tro make it visible by rendering it accessible in practical terms
4. MOVE or COPY all those EDITED THREADS into INSIDE WP:
5. a/b/c/.....aa/bb/....zzzzzzz ## various other suggestions
6. Set up this interview in its own sub-forum GREENTEA's p>/<p PLOT
A. the interview should start with the EDITED QUESTIONNAIRES and must be editable by interviewee along as they speak;
allowing a separate thread per individual interview allows for complete adaptability with respect to interviewer & interviewee alike; schedules can be suited to a T; (i promise you anything "daily" or "weekly" WILL FAIL;
& on the contrary: it allows for anyone to become interviewee (at own volition) one could say as a member-status (once interview started, never ending, and... people change.... ALLOW FOR HISTORY: HISTORY CREATES WHO YOU ARE
B. create a double thread:
- INTERVIEW, starting with introduction by moderator & Questionnnaire Details
- PA:public address
this NEEDS to be very strictly managed, or the interview will get muddled and unreadable; that means it requires moderating: who else to start but Greentea?
However, no interviewer of whatever colour of beverage can be relied upon consistently to turn out quality, and even if, would miss the spontaneous surprising idea=question (or suggestion: read my sig-line: i promise to behave trolly and provocative) that might occur to anyone of the fascinated audience
Actually, this might create a different style of interviewing altogether...
I WOULD LOVE TO BE INVOLVED,
if I were, I would insist on Seb being my main guide in matters software, also because of the implicated privacy issues
Addable Skype functionality would be brilliant, given video quality (what a great idea!), however i do not believe that would be secure enough, although me, myself & i ... we are no longer bothhered with all that
Never Again....... NEVERMORE, my sweet lenore
Zetecs Astronomy!
create the museum of our culture!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !
That must be worth anybody's time: i would pay you Greentea, but it will not come cheaply, you shall have to fight me every step of the way, just in order to achieve consistent quality
HA: this would not be open-sourced; this would be content Open-ended

I think it's a great and very interesting idea, as long as it's completely voluntary and no one feels any pressure to be interviewed. Some people are very open and have no problem with it, others are more private. I wouldn't have any problem with it at all, but I respect those who wouldn't be comfortable with it.
BTW, I'm NVLD with overlapping AS/ASD tendencies, and my son is an aspie.
