I agree with that as well.

as Fnord would've probably said, if there was any financial compensation I'd consider wearing one
Hey! I didn't even think of that. It basically makes you a walking billboard...

That's how I view AS. I never consider it a "disorder", and it gets on my nerves when people call it "ASD"/"autistic spectrum disorder". NTs are the ones who categorize AS as that. If we call it that, we succumb to their domination.

I call it a difference but, it's something that I protect. If you don't make use of your difference, the NTs will. That's why I personally don't agree with advertising it to non-aspies/non-autists who aren't educated of the spectrum or don't have family/friends on it.

I propose the phrase "debatably disabled". NTs have the right to label us. We have the right to tell them they're wrong. :)

Agree completely here. Although it's meant otherwise, the logo seems to suggest that an Aspie is a weirdo, while I'd rather contradict that kind of thinking.

I got the WrongPlanet golf shirt last fall and I wear it frequently in public. I keep waiting for some member of the WP who I may potentially come in contact with somewhere to see it and say "Hi, I belong to the WP too." (with over 24,000 members the liklihood of coming in contact with a member is great.) But so far...nothing. But perhaps some member has seen it and just didn't want to approach me---because if I saw someone wearing one, I might be too awkward to approach them---though I would try.
yes, but a lot of those members are inactive or never were active.

Nevertheless this forum is very well visited! At the moment more than 500 people are active! It's even impossible to read through all contributions because there are so many. Fortunately not all 24.000 are active!

Unfortunately, no. But then again, I've never even seen it, so I don't know whether I'd even like it enough to wear it around the house. But, if I did like it, & could actually afford it, I still probably wouldn't. I'd have to be completely comfortable with everything in order to do that. Right now, I use public transportation, but if I ever get a license & get a car, I might where it to a grocery store, or something like that, but that's it.

If it just says "Wrong Planet" on it, though, I probably would, as long as people didn't stop me to talk about it. But if it said anything about Asperger's or autism on it, I wouldn't. Especially if it were clearly visible. I'm already viewed as "odd". I don't want to be viewed more negatively than I already am & Asperger's & autism can be viewed very negatively by a lot of people. However, if I were to wear something like that in public, maybe it would be a good thing. It would then explain my "oddities" to people, & maybe they'd understand me more.

I really don't know I guess. This ended up being a hard question to answer. I was just going to write a short answer of "Unfortunately, no." & I ended up writing two full paragraphs .
