A while back I part of a not-so-busy internet discussion group for those with BPD. I recall one person posting and saying he'd discovered he had Asperger's and that this meant he wasn't supposed to socialize. I thought, and still think, that it's sad for him to let his diagnosis define him. (Well, not sure if he was officially diagnosed with it or not, but same point either way.) It was like he was surrendering, and I don't think that's a good thing.
