i taught my kids how to beat the ever-loving snot out of any bully that even tried to make them their next victims. true i have had to pick up my kids from the principals office or the police station but never from a hospital or a morgue.

stand up.
fight back.
make them regret ever laying eyes on you.

I agree with your approach.

I f*****g hate how physically defending yourself is seen as aggressive and wrong. There isn't an alternative. You either fight back, or condition yourself to lie still while someone beats the snot out of you.

timeisdead, I'm not sure how to properly answer this post as, I'm not a parent but, I hope it would be acceptable to use myself in such a scenario? I can recall when I was in school and how being bullied by tyrants as, I liked to call them became all to troublesome.. Since I was not the most athletic of persons the idea of physical retaliation was simply not an option still, though I did try to do my best to avoid the pesky idiots whenever such situations did arrive yet, that was not always the strategic plan mind you.
Personally, it's hard to say on how to deal with today's tyrants and all yet, one should look at all options however, keep in mind though if your child(ren) do resort to physical action more than likely the school system might see such as intolerable behavior equal to the behavior exhibited by the tyrants tormenting someone. Honestly, these days I no longer tolerate being pushed around. No, I don't go around beating up on people just stand-up for myself when of necessity or other people in a similar scenario.
