Yes! I too find myself being more comfortable around people, and I think this is because I no longer feel like I have to try to fit in and act like them. I can be myself and it's liberating. If I'm bored by a conversation, for example, I'll get up and leave, whereas before I'd just sit there being uncomfortable.

At 54, I find the "covering and acting normal", verryyyyy tiring. I find myself to be more aspie as I pass thru menopause.

Interesting you should mention that first part...my friend recently moved out of my house and into a new house with his fiancee, so for hte past few weeks I've actually lived truly alone for the first time in my life. During this time I've discovered that by "letting myself go" and not trying to cover up I actually feel a little better. Of course now I'm even more hermit-y than I was before. :)
