got provisional license at 41 years of age. terrible driver. live in a country town and only drive in countryside and my town and once a fortnight to big smoke to see AS psych.

car is banged, bashed and totally mangled by my poor driving skills.
i am still on P's. and should be on full license but cannot get my head around doing the test -- too outside normal routine.

I still have my learner's license and I'm 21. I love driving out on country roads when no ones around, but in heavy traffic with lots of cars I get SO stressed, and that's why my learning came to a bit of a standstill. I also live in a city with tons of public transit, so I don't really see the need for a car at this time. Eventually I may get my full license but I have other priorities that are a bit more important (i.e finishing up university)

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

Driving is honestly a hobby of mine. I could (and have) drive around for hours and be happy. I don't need anyone with me. I don't need music. Just my car and my brain to entertain me.

I almost find it therapeutic. I find that I'm really relaxed and at peace when taking drives. I love taking state routes and ending up in the middle of nowhere.

I hate when people overtake me when I do the speed limit, and when they get to a hill with a chicane, they slow down. I'm averaging just below top speed, and I'm catching them up quickly as they can't be bothered to change down or brake unnecessarily. I usually drive a smaller car with less power and I keep at the maximum speed limit, and I know the roads very well.

The best way to learn is to begin by getting the car moving and driving in a circle :) Then go the other way, then a figure of 8. It's a start, but will test your feet skills. If you want a real test, get a cup of water, 75% full and try not to spill a drop ;)

I pity those that learn by going straight out onto the roads. So much to take in.

I refuse to learn to drive. And I probably shouldn't, as I sometimes have these depth precision problems. I've never been interested in things with motors in them... which people think Very Strange.

I found learning to drive a car difficult - screaming and crying difficult with the frustration of it - although I passed my test first time. I quite enjoy driving now. I don't mind other drivers in much the same way as I don't mind crowds; there's not really any personal interaction, just a bunch of things moving about.

I find the hardest thing about driving is all the hassle that goes with it - I hate having to telephone or go to garages to arrange for tests, repairs and so on; that sort of interaction is very taxing for me.

When of my biggest regrets is giving up learning to drive. I did try when I was 17 but I gave up for a "break", which has now lasted 3 years. I was just too nervous as the time. I think I will try and learn asap cause I really want to drive, this time in an automatic.

I am learning to drive and can't wait for my test I just love hitting the roads it is great fun except I do have a habit of finding really thick drivers either driving really slow or really fast and people just crossing the road without looking annoying.

I can drive but choose not to, I mainly ride a bike everywhere it gives me a sense of freedom. Living in the city it usually takes longer to drive anyway but do enjoy how focused it makes me, its kind of like being in a crowed place and trying to have a conversation in a way but that makes me uncomfortable. I raced downhill at one point so its very natural for me to switch off and commit to a path, this i wouldnt be able to do in a car or motorbike for safety reasons.

I can drive, although it took me a long time to learn, but I don;t particlularly enjoy it and only do so now when there's no viable alternative.I work in a busy city centre (Glasgow) which is a traffic nightmare so I'm perfectly happy travelling by train, even if I have to stand for the 20 minute journey.

I drive but my kids and husband constantly remind me of what a horrible driver I am and my 24 year old son tells me that I need to have my license taken away LOL

I haven't caused a wreck yet and I'm 49 so I must not be TOO bad! : P
