most of the things (in my case anyway, I'm not speaking for others here) that you want to do are either illegal or impossible.

When you answer a friend's question about parsing timestamps in their computer program in 15 seconds, then, after the solution is no longer practically relevant, spend another 15 minutes making it account for every possible case imaginable, and start a long discussion on the possibility of the hitherto-unused double leap second (meaning you must accept "01:01:61" as a potentially valid (local) time of day)

...when you deliberately make excuses to NOT be absent from school.
...when it brings you considerable distress to miss school for a perfectly legitimate reason, such as the sanctity of your health.
...when you spend five minutes staring out of the living room door waiting for the pizza delivery person and STILL begin flapping wildly out of anxiousness when said person arrives.
...when you contemplate another indicator of aspie-ness for the sheer sake of having the number of indicators in your post correlate to your favorite number.

You know you're an aspie when:

....you are 100% right and the other is 100% wrong and you STILL manage to lose the argument.

...you have an argument with somebody who is blatantly hypocritical and wrong, and *everyone* in the room sides with him, but then backstage they all individually admit you were actually right but didn't want to argue against your "opponent" because *insert hogwash reasons*.

The former is true of a friend of mine. First time we met up, he talked a lot. He later on emailed me and said "I apologise for being too quiet" - he talks a lot, whereas I don't.

This one really resonates with me haha. Nearly all my socialising is activity based. Either watching football, playing the xbox, playing pool in the pub, playing the quiz machine etc etc.

I remember once my mate turned the TV off and I kinda panicked. I was like "What are you doing?". And he was like "You know it's really bad that you need the TV on to feel comfortable". I felt a bit lousy after that haha.

But yeah it's crazy how much of these I can relate to. I think I may have finally found a place where I fit in haha.

You know you're an aspie when you're running late for work but you still stop by the gas station like every other day. When they don't have what you usually get you stand there for 5 minutes debating weither you should just go or try and figure out what other food to get. Then you spend several more minutes trying to decide what to buy. By this time you're really late and if you just skipped the gas station you would have barely made it to work on time.

That's what my morning was like today.

...You have a very specific system to sorting laundry, and you get annoyed when others tell you not to do it that way.

I love algebra too. Actually, much to mum's horror, (she's my PA at college / uni) I love maths and am doing a maths and computing degree.

I hate only loud noices, quiet/medium noices like watches or people talking, or telephone doesn't bother me, but I'm really sensitive to music. I love to listen to music, nearly as much as I love to play it, but I can't tolerate even a little bit of background music if I'm supposed to do something rational, like working... And I hear every little pieces of melody, harmony and basses and all of that. It's ok when you want to play something without notes (I hate notes...) but when your working, it's kind of hard if your concentration is paying attention only to the music. And that's why I use earplugs at work and everybody thinks I'm weirdo, because this noice doesn't borher anyone else. And explaining why this noice bothers me, is like explaining colours to a blind person...

I'm exactly the opposite. I very often play music while I work. When I am concentrating the music (and pretty much everyting else) just gets blocked out but it helps keep me focused when my mind starts drifting.

Background noise doesn't bother me.

You know you're an Aspie when... you would rather look like an idiot running by covering your ears than having to listen to that siren go off.

You know you're an Aspie when... you make any excuse to go outside to escape the noise of people talking. Too many conversations = very loud.
