You know you're an Aspie when you adjust the computer monitor for an hour so as to get the "perfect" contrast and brightness levels, so the screen wouldn't be so annoyingly overstimulating.... And then you wonder what you were going to google search :?

You know you're an aspie when more than one person talking at the same time drives you crazy.

You know you're an aspie when you say to yourself, "Whoa, that sounds like me!" whenever you visit WrongPlanet. :D

You might be an Aspie if...

... on your way home you get stopped by poorly-timed lights, but instead of just getting angry that it's taking forever, you get angry at the engineers for creating such an inefficient road system.

... you once decided to memorize the entire Greek alphabet, "just because."

... you decided to learn the Japanese writing systems, too, but kept it a secret so you could impress people at a moment's notice...
...However, when the moment came and you told someone you could read the Hiragana on their menu, they just went, "That's not surprising." ... Oh...

... you had trouble in school when your math teacher told you to "show your work", but you always did it in your head so you pretty much had to backtrack the process you went through just so you could write it all down.

... when they gave you an extra sheet for math tests "in case you need to work out the problems", you always returned it blank for the same reason as above. (...and the teacher still didn't accept, "I do it in my head" as a reason not to write it out for homework, ugh.)

... you walk around a book store with a full basket, wondering why they don't have any shopping carts.

... you've ever noticed that the "Lucky numbers" on fortune cookies tend to have a lot of prime numbers.

... you always put the caps back on your pens and get annoyed when other people leave them on the wrong side (with the ink side exposed.)

Haha, that's so me playing The Sims 2! Love that game, play it everyday, so addicting.

You might be an Aspie if...

... for your health you've made it your routine to swim for twenty minutes after work every day, but you come home you discover that your roommate invited two friends over and they're all in the pool... and you suddenly feel conflicted and angry that you now have to make a choice between following through on your routine or being social with some virtual strangers. (In the end I broke my routine... and stayed angry at my roommate all night.)

... you feel the urge to re-organize your bookshelves (again), but this time you want to get stickers and set up a dewey decimal-like system...

... when you see a bug crossing the sidewalk, you're more inclined to stop, bend down, and watch it, rather than squish it or keep walking.

... you hear a salesperson try to convince you by saying, "It's in fashion!" and your urge is to respond, "So, it'll look stupid next year?"

... you're the only one your boss trusts to go through every label on every product so you can clean out things that are expiring, because nobody else in the store pays attention to little details like you do.

... you can't stand some people's sense of humor because it relies heavily on a combination of sarcasm and deadpan, so you never know if they are serious or not. :hmph: :(

Haha, I was tempted to add, "... if you consider The Sims to be one of your obsessions." I know I do. Even when I'm not playing, I'm thinking of what I should make the next generation be like...

I'm thinking of playing and probably will soon. I'm currently on a cheat code free legacy but only on generation 2.

Some things I do in Sims 3:

I get married, impregnate my wife, and once we conceive our last child I never talk to her again for the rest of her life.
I have kids and have the parents keep calling the babysitter back instead of taking care of the babies and toddlers themselves unless I want to teach them to walk, talk, or use the toilet.
After I get my first and second floor built up in my mansion I make a basement retreat for my sim and lock the door to everyone except him.

Legacies are fun. I usually make the kids meet one opposite-sex (or same-sex, if they aren't the heir/heiress) kid while in school, and have them pretty much exclusively become best friends with them, date them as teens, and marry them as adults. They need to at least procreate to bring the next generation, but I don't need them to be popular or have parties. (Though to be fair, if you max someone with the mixology skill and have them serve "crazy drinks" at a party, the results can be pretty hilarious.)

But we're getting off-topic now. Gotta find/start a Sims thread on here later...

That reminds me. You might be an Aspie if the "aside" notes you add to a comment often end up being as long or longer than the original comment itself...

I like the Sims 2, but I must be a weird Aspie then because right now I am doing a group of 8 adults all living at a party place where they just party, socialise and go on vacations (I have the Bon Voyage expansion pack). I wish I could have more than 8 sims living on one lot.

I use a lot of cheats to play in ''party mode'' though, otherwise without the cheats I wouldn't be able to do it. That's another weird thing about me - I get bored of the sim's same routine.

Nah, that's not too abnormal. The routine does tend to get boring, but that's why I look up user-made challenges, like the Legacy Challenge, Poverty Challenge, or Asylum Challenge (these being my favorite three.) I also like making large families (as I said previously, I love making complex family trees.) So I've had more than eight per household before (through cheats, of course.) I like to give each person their own personalities and quirks. It makes the Legacy stories more fun and interesting.

You might be an Aspie...

... if you were twelve years old before you realized that other kids were actually seeing each other outside of school.

... if you watch television shows and movies with captions because it's hard to follow the story without them, even though you are not hearing-impaired.

... if you think reading your friends' Facebook statuses every few days (and occasionally commenting on or "liking" them) is sufficient to maintain a long-term friendship. (Hey, it's been working out for me for several years!)

... if you take some tinsel that was decorating something nearby and play with it for an hour, just because it's shiny, has pretty colors, and you just can't take your eyes off it. Oh, and you're completely sober. (I was guilty of this just yesterday. Luckily, the people I was with know me well enough that they weren't surprised.)

... if your Dr is ready to refer you to a sleep specialist because you're on the third medication she's prescribed to help you, but sometimes you still can't just shut your brain up at night and go to sleep like a normal person. (Wow, it's 1am already?)
