What's fun is to see some of those shows and see it from the perspective of an adult and still remember the perspective of the child. Those were some sly jokes on some of those shows. Smothers Brothers, Laugh-In.......

And, then, there was the inverse.....
My Mother the Car
*shudder*

Yep. Didn't appreciate it until I got older and saw them again. Some really sly writing back then.

My favorite story came from Laugh-In. They had a joke that Judy Carne did with Dan Rowan.
Rowan: Hi
Carne (really spaced out): You too?

The censors came back at them later and complained they slipped a drug reference in. It was mentioned that it was approved by that person and then asked who explained it to him. He said it was his son. Hahahahahahahaha

Who knows? I mean, Richard Nixon appeared on that show...how strange is that? It was a weird time. Look at the clothes we wore!

I remember when clogs made a comeback and my daughter went nuts over them. Swore to love them forever and ever. I would laugh because I remembered how much everyone loved them when I was a kid. And, then grew up.

Asked her about the clogs a few years ago (she's 30) and she just winced a bit and said she didn't know what she was thinking....LOL...Now she has a kid...HAHahahahahahaha

must be interesting to have lived long enough to see the children of your children stressing them the way your children stressed you back in the day. :o

in terms of you being a father, I could not equal that performance. I am not parent material.

Ohhhh....who said I was any good at it? I did the best I could, but with what I am learning, it could have been better for my kids. And my son was 35 before I even knew about him.
