Running away to the library to avoid sticking around for a parent interview with my mum.

Oh man, aren't those awful? I like retreating to libraries too, every so often...they're so lovely and quiet.

Recovering from a day at the beach by sitting alone in my room on the computer....

Not that this happens a lot

This is why I love Wrong Planet. All of that describes me... If I happen to be in the main house when it rings, I crouch on the stairs and look through the railing to see who it is. If it's someone I don't know, I go upstairs to my room

Also, if I get a phone call, I'm hesitant to answer it.

I don't like answering the door or the phone either (unless it's on my mobile and I can see who it is).

Most recently, not being able to cut bread properly and cutting myself and then being made fun of by the canteen staff :/. I don't know if this is an ASD thing, but often when I'm going somewhere and thinking to myself "I don't know what to do", I'll make hand gestures indicative of that.

this happened yesterday but i'm slow on the uptake. i was at a film screening for my organisation and somebody i know from youthgroup shows up and she starts talking to me and puts her stuff next to me and asks me if im going to be here for the rest of the meeting. all i said was yes and then i turned around and started stacking tables and chairs. it occurs to me that she may have prefered it if she wasnt left alone in a room full of strangers and seeing as we had not started she may not have known what to do and she may have been trying to start a conversation. i feel rude.

I can't really devide between "me" and "ASD".

The way I eat, write, think about things, behave etc.
It's too close connected to my personality that I could say: "Oh, that's ASD" because I actually also would have to say: "oh that's me".

But I somethimes have moments who very typical for a person with ASD.

One is:
Psychiatrist: "Do you hear any voices from people who are not in this room?"
Me: "Yes, the people outside the door."

I tore up a parking ticket, not knowing that we needed it to exit the car park.

Bro was furious and I had to pay 315 to get out.

I had a visitor to work ask me where XYZ office is. Without missing a beat, I told him the other side of town but quickly realized he didn't mean it literally, just where can I drop documents for the office. I quickly apologized and laughed about how I've got to stop taking everything literally and directed him to the proper spot. Before I understood AS, I would have seen nothing wrong with what I said at all.

Flipping out because I had to go to a training class on my day off. It interrupted my gaming time and I was very upset!

Taking a bath before bed because I felt anxious and pulling the curtains to feel closed in and safe. Soon, as I do each night I will have to weigh down my feet with a heavy blanket or I will not be able to sleep. (I've had this habit for as long as I can remember.) And as usual freezing my husband out with the AC and fan because if I feel slightly warm I get anxious and uneasy.

Not diagnosed, but I have ASD in my opinion...

A couple of hours ago I put something outside my front door for someone to pick up. I told her I wouldn't be home so I'd just leave it on the porch, but I was home. This person is always trying to make friendly chit-chat. She seems to really want to be friends but I can never tell what she expects me to say. She says something, and I respond, and then her smile fades and I know I said the wrong thing. It happens constantly. So I just avoid her now.

Shortly before that, I failed to plan properly for travel time to (and preparation for) an appointment, and then I was late. Flippin' genius, Esperanza.

That is a classic! Now I want to try that some time.

Made weird faces.

in the dentist's chair today [wisdom tooth extraction] they told me to be sure i did not disturb the clot in the hole where the tooth/root was, that it would eventually turn into scar tissue to seal the hole. this made me go because i thought clots eventually scabbed and fell off in due time. but they told me no, it would turn directly into scar tissue. so i had to take them for their word.

p.s. - a word to the wise, young whippersnappers- do EVERYTHING you reasonably can, to keep your teeth in tiptop shape, do not end up like me with a mouthful of metal and diseased teeth.

Playing through my chess game from last night over and over again. It helps that I won.
