You will never suffer form the "DUNNING AND GRUGER" effect (you think you are a moron ) unless it's related to you "special interest' , than you believe you know it all ,and you probably do !

That's quite a lot I would have thought it would be closer to 5- 10

Yeah. Listening to the "same forty songs over and over" is exactly what most teenagers did from 1946 until the advent of U Tube at the turn of the 21st Century. That's why it was called "Top Forty Radio". And most teens are NT. So that quantity of favorite songs is rather pedestrian, and not particularly autistic.

When you listen to forty different versions of the same one song on YouTube in one sitting..like say "At The Dark End of the Street".... gotta hear how it was sung by James Carr, Percey Sledge, Clarence Carter, Tom Petty, Dolly Parton with Porter Wagoner, Linda Rhondstadt, The Commitments, Eva Cassidy, the Tedeshi Trucks band, Greg Allman,...

It's a sin, and I know its wrong, but my obsession with the song, just keeps coming on strong...steal away, steal away.... theyre gonna find me, theyre gonna find me... slumped in front of my computer....

Yeah. I had some WP withdrawal symptoms too.

But I watched some of those videos by Alex and his friends for the first time...was forced to... like methadone treatment. Some of them are kinda interesting.

The meaning of life ? To live as long as possible so you can stick it to the rest of us , that's what the 100+ year olds are doing , it could start at 90 though .

You come here expecting to see some one a "little bit like you "and realise that's not the case except with the odd exception , one or two I can relate to here .

...you have to literally sit on your hands to keep from stimming with them.

...you have to have your feet in a very particular position at night or you'll stim with them, and either the motion or the effort to keep from doing it will keep you from sleeping.

Not sure what to make of this but seems pretty autistic to me.

I will often take an object I can see in the foreground, squint one eye and align it visually to a predetermined object in the background, I will do whatever it takes short of getting up and moving around to make it happen, once successfully aligned visually I feel really happy about it all.

When you get a new boss and you're all happy and excited because she's saying all these positive things and you think that life is going to get better.... and then you hear your colleagues talking about her in a very negative and pessimistic way, which makes you very uncomfortable, and you don't know how to respond to them, and you're left all confused.

I hate the way some NTs gossip and mistrust people.

When your favorite special interest web site (in my case, a cat related site) no longer exists, you feel sad.

I do this all the time. I'll be thinking about something and then start talking about it (half-way through my thought) and forget that the person I'm talking to doesn't have access to my thoughts
