I hope they don't get rid of the pictures. Nobody deserves to not have pictures of one's family whom they like.

I don't have any pictures of my family----but I don't need them. I see my mother pretty frequently.

...I am asking for immediate, shirt-term, help in getting the things sent to a stable place. Longer -term, I could get them to somewhere else. I need them to be " caught " now.
I am in this rehab situation where's I am really supposed to not go out at all, though I do, and my medical situation makes it hoarded. Now some things I was told, like Red Raven saying I could. get a cheap bank account, now that might be viable, if the bank really does that and us reachable by mass transit. The immediate finding of a place for the p$m, etc., etc., which I have answered to the best of my ability regarding the space question, is one.

That's why this thread is being moderated by XFilesGeek.

Why move the stuff twice instead of just renting your own storage locker and having it shipped directly to wherever you're going to store the stuff?

Almost any business accepts payment online or over the phone. People email, fax, or courier documents to be signed every day. Use your money, rent a space, and email the address to the lawyer to ship it to.

Why involve someone else' time, money, and space redundantly repeating the process over again?

You say you're not supposed to go out at all, yet you really don't seem like the kind of guy who's lived his whole life doing the things he's told he's supposed to do, so why all of the sudden when there's this thing you REALLY want done, can you not go do it for yourself because someone told you you're supposed to stay put?*

*If you really can't leave the building, make a phone call or two. Send an email. etc. But it is HIGHLY inappropriate to be on here asking someone else to take on the burden, and monetary expense, of your stuff. Ask the social workers/rehab people right next to you to make the phone call on your behalf if you're non-verbal. It just seems BIZARRE that you somehow think strangers on the internet should take on the (even temporary) burden and expense of receiving and storying your stuff. Spend your OWN time and money on it.

I think Goldfish is using a sort of "tough love" approach. Which is just one approach to this. This sort of approach is used on people in drug recovery (not that you're in drug recovery); but some people believe in it as a way to prod people to make progress.

I don't think he truly wants you not to have the pictures.

I'm really quite indifferent, tbh. I certainly don't want to see someone else taken advantage of by your internet pandhandling, though. That's of greater concern to me than whether your stuff gets to you or it doesn't.

Which would require some autistic person to give you their name, home address, email address and pone number, to have an unknown amount of stuff sent to them and put them under the responsibility of keeping it safe for you.

And since you will have all of their personal contact info, how do they know you won't keep contacting them directly for one favor after another? Begging them to come to you teach you technology and get you into a university etc etc.

More or less. It's ASS-P's problem, he should deal with an pay for it. No one else. He has an income. He has help all around him at the rehab place. He's been given AMPLE advice on what to do about it. He can take care of his own stuff. It shoudn't be on anyone else.

IF I truly didn't want him to have the pictures I'd do something to make sure he didn't, like receive them myself & dispose of them. But I don't Not want him to have them. I just don't want anyone else to get swindled into spending their money on his self-created problem. It's HIS problem to solve if HE wants it solved. He gets money every week and doesn't even pay rent anywhere. IF he wants a storage locker, ASS-P can pay for one.

So making Goldfish21 out to be a villain and you a victim, is a good way to tug on people's heartstrings.

I'm sure you have had a lot of practice at this type of manipulation, after soliciting WP members for so many years.

If that's what you're up to, which it sure looks like to me.

If he doesn't have a lot he could get a 3 by 3 storage space for 20.00 per month. Not bad.

If there was a way for the lawyer to send the stuff to a storage facility directly, with ASS-P obtaining the storage space in advance-----that would be "problem solved."

I believe some storage facilities pick up stuff for free.

He has to find out how much stuff he has.
