Reading the hugs thread makes you feel physically sick.

A stranger doesn't notice you and you think that he or she hates you.

A stranger smiles at you and you think that he or she loves you.

Someone says something, and you ask someone else what was meant.

You don't know what someone thinks about you, so you ask someone else to tell you.

You overhear a neutral statement and think that you've just been insulted, even though you can't figure out how.

You overhear an uncomplimentary statement and think that it was said about you.

You’re near 25 and still shop in the children’s section (well, plus size children’s section) because the clothes are so much softer and more sensory friendly

Likewise, once you find your one or two comfortable outfits for the season, you buy them up in every color/pattern that comes in your size. Less guesswork.

You can’t remember that you were supposed to switch the laundry over or call your doctor today but you remember lines from TV shows you watched years ago.

You have to wear earplugs when reading or writing when your neighbour in the apartment above you is home because you can hear her every move above you and not only it's annoying and distracting but some if the activities she does hurts your ears even though it isn't loud, it's just the tone of it above you that makes your ears feel funny. It makes it worse that your neighbour above is a compulsive cleaner and is always hoovering, and hearing the hoover rumble repeatedly across the floor above is really annoying plus painful.

You know you're autistic when...

... polygraph machines (a.k.a., "Lie Detectors") indicate that you are either sleeping or on fire.

... psychics either read you incorrectly or not at all.

... you have ever cited the Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook as an historical source in a Western Civilizations class.

... you have ever evaluated real people in terms of their potential Armor Class, THAC0, and/or Weapon Proficiency level.

... you would rather solve a problem than talk about it (unless you are talking about how you solved the problem).

... your best friend from childhood was either a six-foot tall purple dinosaur or a seven-foot tall yellow bird.
