Do you worry about being alone?
And I'm not talking about dogs in general.
Fair enough. Then I have no beef with whatever else you are saying (even if you're being snotty because I dare to hold a different opinion). As long as you are not advocating to people that they sic their dogs on armed attackers, then we have no conflict. You're welcome to have your own opinions about your own personal canine. I hope for your dog's sake that they are never tested against any type of firearm.
P.S. The dogs in the links look like very loveable companions!

*Hehe* You'll have to excuse that, I get alot from people that they look lazy/slow/clumbsy/etc, and it really ticks me since they don't know anything about the breed. ^^
They are, very calm and confident (like most big dogs) and never seeks reasons to fight, they just never backs down.

When I was a kid and into my teens I was sometimes uncomfortable doing stuff on my own, but there was never anyone to do stuff with, so I got used to doing stuff by myself. I'd go to parks, restaurants, movies, etc., all by myself, and I am still that way, except now I need someone to take me places, as I can no longer drive due to several health issues.
Regarding canes and defense, canes can make great defensive weapons. I get around with 2 offset handle quad canes. Almost all cane self defense videos are for single tip canes, not quad canes, but I did eventually manage to find a couple for quad cane users. I also have the right mind set. I am quite happy to get along with other people, but if someone wants to attack me, I will defend myself. I've had to do it in the past, and will do so in the future, if necessary. Because I have 2 bad knees and a bad back, I can't kick away an attacker, so the canes are part of my self defense strategy. While I am in favor of guns for self defense, no attacker is going to wait politely while I put aside one of my canes to get out a gun, so I chose not to burden myself with something I wouldn't be able to use fast enough.
Don't be afraid to go it alone in going places that people usually go to with other people. Also, do look into various methods of self defense, including using your cane. There are all kinds of such videos online, so you should be able to find something helpful that way.
