Do you think people with AS have less drive to compete?

I believe that in the activities I compete in, my biggest enemy is myself. Beating someone in a game means very little to me.

When I am not competing at my full potential then I sometimes get angry. But I try my best to use that anger to learn how to get better.

It's been my experience that laid-back, easy-going people are pretty rare among any neurology. I came to this conclusion because I'm extremely non-competitive and I get along best with others who are also non-competitive, down-to-earth, and with a good sense of humor, but I've located very few people matching this description.

Generally, I've found that the majority want to fluff up their egos and will go to great lengths to achieve this. NTs accomplish it through being popular, wearing the latest fashions, bragging about how much sex they have and how much money they earn. Aspies/introverts/socially awkward types tend to do it by wanting to be seen as "intellectually gifted," or "special" in some capacity. I've come to be disillusioned in my search for intelligent online discussion because I keep running into "gifted people" who aren't so much interested in talking about interesting things as they are in "debating" and trying to prove how "smart" they are.

Apparently, everyone wants to be "better" than someone else.

Personally, I find the question of how I rate against other humans extremely uninteresting. I do not comprehend "competition" at all. Ugh.

I am extremely competitive and yeah, I hate, like, extremely hate losing. I'm not into sports tho, so if I compete in them and loose, I wouldn't be bothered.
