no idea why i guess has to do with pituatary gland and chemicals it releases??? no idea, also anyone ever be toldthey are too young all beucase of their voice sounding like a child's??? i alot get to hear we need to talk to your mom or daddy. last week i was on phone with a tech from verizon dsl resetting modem and she gave me some bull saying i needed to have my parents call to do it!
i told her "look i may sound like a 5 year old becuase of my voice but i really am 21 years old and want to fix my puter problem now and today!" (she got supervisor and we fixed it)

i think telemarketers and tech support centers and other people who deal with the public need to put developmental disorders that make your voice sound young into consideration because if not its breeding grounds for discrimination. i know many think its a kid lying and kid using im 18 or im 21 as an excuse. just because my voice sounds like a young child, it doesnt mean i know nothing about computers.

This is the reason why I don't like telemarketers. The last one that called askd to speak with my babysitter.

 ohh no how old are you sorce?? I guess im not alone with the "child" voice when speaking, its the verbal noises not the grammer that gets them.

there was also another time were my mom was in a cab and the cab driver didnt know were a spacific street was and driver at first acted like as if I was just rambling off and and didnt know what I was talking about, but I was right about were the street was when the driver fianlly gave in and I told him I rode on that street every day of the school year I should know exactly were it is!

It's funny actually, a few months ago i went to a pcso (police community support officer) training course and 6 of us sat on a table. We all asked each others age and i told them i was 18..they were like "wot!! i thought u were 20 summit".

But i sometimes get ID'd in pubs and clubs and not very often for cigarettes so :?

I look younger. Might be due to my stimulant abuse when I was 15 though.

I'll be 41 next week. Most people guess my age at 27-33. Perhaps one of the reasons I don't socialize well with my peers is because most of them look their age, which makes them seem much older than me. In fact, 2 weeks ago I met a guy who was 34 and he looked older than I do.

I will be 30 this year, and i still get asked for i.d. VERY annoying.
People always go on about it when I tell them my actual age. Most people think I am between 19 and 22. No-one ever thinks I am older than 22. It's cool, I guess - I seem to have stopped aging at 22!

Does EVERYONE here really look younger than they are? Or is it just a perception thing? Could either of these two pre-positions be related to the Autistic mind?

But yeah I'll go with the trend and say I look younger. Everyone says I look younger than I do. I'm 20, but pbly look 16-17. I'm always asked for I.D. *Shrugs*, no biggie.

Good point SP, I had a gf and she said that I looked older, but that was very influenced because I was overweight.

But some people I know say that I look younger, like 24-25, when I'm actually 29.

Maybe it's a mix of lifestyle and genetics?

Because I know people who is about my age and have a different look, like adults and not a teen anymore.

I'm often mistaken for someone older. I think it's the beard.

I'm seventeen and tall enough that people won't guess less than sixteen, but other than height, dress and perhaps mannerisms, I think I look fourteen or so.
