I don't have any issue with nudity. Provided the environment is well suited for it. I'd go nude more often but my living situation is prohibitive of that.
I've been to a nudist club once and most don't really care what you look like. They care more about how you behave.

I am pretty prudish. I think there are many traces of Protestant Shame in me, I dont know.

I'm a ball of contradiction when it comes to nudity. I don't care who sees me naked, but skimpy clothes embarrass the crap out of me. They always have... even when I looked like this

Count me in as one of the part time nudists. I've always been comfortable in just skin.

Someone mentioned school showers - I was extremely nervous about those when they first started making us take showers after gym. I didn't care about being nude, but, well, at that age my, ah, "equipment" had a mind of its own, and I was terrified that it would decide to stand up and look around at the wrong time. The idea of being seen "that way" didn't really bother me, but I knew what kind of grief I'd catch if I popped wood around a bunch of nekkid guys. 8O

Skinny-dipping and such, as a kid and as a teenager, didn't bother me at all. I've never understood why you need clothes for swimming.

First visit to a nude beach (as an adult) was a bit awkward. I kept thinking about the sexual implications of nudity with others, and, well, remember what I was worried about happening in the showers at school?  So, i spent my time on a nearly deserted section of beach, and by the third time I went, I no longer had that problem.

Nowadays - my bf tells his friends, "Call before you come over, so I can get John to put on some clothes."

So that sounds like you are more comfortable on a nude beach than on a regular beach in a bikini. You can't get much more skimpy than a bikini.

Nudity is out! Even wearing little clothes is. I suffer in the summer because I have to see people throwing off their clothes, men think it is OK to walk around the area with no shirt and females wear a minimal tank top. There was a change in fashion so people usually wear longer shorts now..! !! Whew.

My wish is for people to wear long sleeves and long legs. I do. But my minimal demand is a tshirt and long shorts.

Human skin, especially white people, yuck. Sorry... Just how I feel.

Down here in FL, trying to go around with long pants and long sleeves may get you a heat stroke. Anybody that tries to work out in the 98F weather tends to either be miserable or they have to start throwing off some of their clothes.

I feel really sorry for women because it isn't legal in most places for them to go topless if they want to. I think Canada got that one right.

I have also noticed an unfortunate trend toward long shorts. Especially at the beach. Its really disgusting actually. I mean, girls all wear bikinis, but boys are wearing shorts that go half way down to their ankles and sometimes even wear shirts.

The first time I wore a swimsuit as a baby it was a speedo type and that is the only type I have ever worn since. I don't like changing fashions that much. But I'm thinking the younger guys are probably wearing board shorts or something like that.

Anyhow, when I see those guys at the beach with long board shorts and a shirt on, I am thinking that they must be super prudes or something.

Maybe someday we should arrange a field trip down to Haulover Beach in Miami. Its a legally sanctioned nude beach complete with lifeguards and sheriff patrols to keep out the trash. It would be a really awesome way to get to know each other.

I'm pretty sure there are a couple nude beaches here in California, too. Hmm... that would definitely be something to check out.

there are also nudist campgrounds/resorts in most states. Miami's a looooong way away from most folks on here, i think. someplace around Jacksonville, or maybe Georgia, might be more central, therefore more accessible to more people. gotta be someplace near Atlanta - which would give lots of options besides the nude venue.

Sorry.. but Canada is not that open minded, if I am reading what you said correctly.
If I was to walk out my door right now in what I have on - I would be arrested
If I pulled on a pair of shorts/pants or a skirt and went out - maybe not arrested, but it would not be good.

My place for years has been clothing optional..

for beaches try world beach list CO, not sure about posting a link, so do the work your self.
