When I find something I really like, I buy multiples of it, in different colors or patterns if available, otherwise I just buy multiples of the exact same thing. I have around 14 of the same nightgown, a dozen or so of the same pale pink t-shirt. Sometimes store clerks comment when I'm buying multiples, it really annoys me.
I'm getting to the point that it is so hard to find shoes I like, I am planning to buy at least two pairs when I find some that are comfortable.
I wear things I like until they either wear out, or don't fit anymore. I don't care if they are out of fashion. Sometimes I buy a replacement on ebay if I need a bigger size. I would rather get the same thing than to have to go look for something new.
I have to wear layers in cooler weather so I can take stuff off if I get hot. I'm prone to going back and forth between getting overheated and getting chills. I may wear a long wool coat when other people are just wearing jackets, but when I take my coat off I may have on short/half sleeves while other people are wearing long sleeves or sweaters.
I love to wear a scarf and I have lots of them in all different colors and thicknesses, some for cold weather, some for warm weather. At home I like to wrap my head in a scarf.
I hate wearing things that bind against my elbows or knees. Most jeans/pants are uncomfortable and it feels like hard work to walk in them. I mostly wear skirts, but I like loose fitting, wide leg pants.
Close fitting or tight sleeves bother me, unless they are very stretchy. I hate those weirdly shaped short cap sleeves that pull down tight on the shoulders. My favorite shirts have flutter sleeves.
In warm, sunny weather I love to wear a wide-brimmed straw hat. I have a parasol which I would like to use but I've had relatives threaten they won't be seen with me in public carrying it. LOL I would also like to wear gloves year round (thin cotton ones in summer) but again, people think that is weird.
I guess my clothing aesthetic is somewhat Victorian or Edwardian. I feel more secure with a hat on my head and I wish it was still fashionable for women to wear fancy, custom-made hats.
I also love 40s/50s inspired clothing (polka dots, peplum shirts, full skirts). And I love floral prints or damask.
Sometimes I feel really out of place when I go out in public, and I'm all decked out in layers of clothes that coordinate, and other people are just wearing really simple clothes, like a t-shirt and jeans.
