By the way, CockneyRebel. I just wanted to say that I am about 20 years older than you and I do remember the 1960s (was depressed during the late 60s because I wasn't emotionally ready for adolescence...) I watched the film of Woodstock four times while it was still showing in the cinemas, and bought The Who's Tommy album when it first came out. I remember staying up to listen to the whole album on the radio on the day it was released. I also loved the Small Faces' "Itchycoo Park" - one of my favourite "give your spine a tingle" songs that just takes me back to the 60s. Whenever I hear that on the radio, I turn the volume up loud and get lost back in time.
I do remember the early Kinks' songs like "You Really Got Me", "All Day and All of the Night", "Tired of Waiting for You", "Dedicated Follower of Fashion", "Sunny Afternoon", and "Waterloo Sunset". I only had to look at a list of their songs on Wikipedia and I instantly recognised these titles and began singing them in my head. UK pop in the 1960s was
definitely cool. You've probably inspired to me buy a CD of these hits and add them to my mp3 player.

I even had that one already on CD. Mmmmm (sighs contentedly).
