You're obviously thick if you you think my views are strange. Just about all women I know love the same thing.

If these are your personal views of masculine beauty, that is fine with me, but please do not include me in the number of "just about all women you know who love the same thing." I believe a woman who thinks men should conform to her narrow view of clean shaven short haired masculine beauty is just as shallow as a man who thinks women should look like Barbie dolls to be beautiful.

I think there are good looking men who have short hair and are clean shaven, but there are others with beards and / or long hair who are equally handsome, in my opinion. It really is up to the man in question if he prefers his hair to grow long or his beard to grow, just as the woman's hair style and whether and how often she she shaves her legs and underarms is up to her. Just because a man or a woman is in a relationship that does not give the other person in the relationship the right to dictate hair style or shaving frequency.

I don't mind a goate ( can't spell that :S) but anything longer just makes me feel like it's a germ ridden health hazard, so it's a big turn off. One of my favourite visual stimms is watching people with a beard stroke it when they are thinking. As for long hair, well I'm not too keen on it. I can appreciate that certain people look nice with it and like Peter if it's really really worth growing it then i think it's lovely. I haven't dated anyone with long hair though.

But the germs are good for you! They boost your immune system and prevent auto-immune diseases!

I don't know you, I mean the people I know. There are plenty of people that like it. All I meant was there are just as many that don't, because he called me weird like I was the only one that didn't.

The main reason I got rid of my goatee eight years ago was because I couldn't stop playing with it. That and the fact that it was half grey and I was only 27. I also had long hair after that which I eventually had cut - in spite of my then-partner's protests - because having to tie it back for work highlighted that it was receding...but by the time it was cut it was an absolute shambles. I couldn't be bothered looking after it anymore. Maybe I'll post some pics soon though...like when I get a scanner.

I don't think you're weird. I just don't get why a completely straight woman is turned off by a distinctly male charectoristic. Why are some women attracted only to shaven men with short hair, but not to women with short hair?

I have long hair and a beard. I also like women to be in full possession of all their body hair... i find shaved skin horrible both to touch and to look at, i think if i got into a serious relationship with a woman who shaved her pits or legs i'd have to persuade her to stop...

On the other hand i can also find short hair or even completely bald heads on women very attractive (Sigourney Weaver in Alien 3, Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta), so maybe i just like women who are anything other than conventionally "feminine"...

If that guy shaved, he could learn to break-dance, then hire himself out as a floor sander.

I don't shave because not having match strike capable stubble would mean shaving 3 times a day. Regrowth is very fast. I think my ancestors lived in a very cold climate, where facial hair was the alternative to bits of your face falling off from frostbite.

We're not hiding anything. We're showing contempt for the whole 'make Gillette loads of money' scam. Half the time the way people are pressured to look is to sell something. Like dresses cost the same no matter the size, so it's in the clothes designers interest to pressure people to be thin, so they can use less cloth (think about the number of dresses they make, and the profit they can make from just a tiny change in sizes). I think the thing that looks best on women though is curves. Fashion designers can't draw real people. Have you seen the things they draw?. It'd be fine if someone wanted a picture of an antelope, giraffe, stick insect or some anorexic alien thing. I don't like hugging toast racks, so lay off the chubby girls and learn to draw them.

It's like the waiter says in Monty Python's Meaning of Life.

actually... a lot of designers do drawings that are about as close to normal as you can get with fashion. i think mine are some of the few anorexic ones. but the focus is on the clothes, not the model... notice how a lot of them have hardly any faces? see?

as for me, it depends on the person. i honestly don't think really short hair looks good on that many guys. or really long hair. somewhere in between. then again, it's the person. as for beards, same deal, but typically... no - sorry guys!
