Did you really mean Yachts when you said "penis extenders" in your first post? 8O Is that some sort of normal metaphor?

Yup. Normal. Big cars, jets and yachts are the typical "penis extensions". Have you really never heard of this before?

No... I saw an actual penis extension device.... I sort of made it up I guess since I do not know if this exists. LOL!

Sometimes this literal thing is really a crack up! It often causes a lot of trouble for me though.... That was a BIG miss for me in your message though I guess it sort of has the same broader meaning...

I'm not sure who you think feels victimized here. I can only speak for myself of course, but I've enjoyed my own modest degree of success, such that I continue to support myself despite having not worked now for nearly 3 years. I've never had a problem working (except through recent ill health) but have nonetheless always held these views.

It's just that my primary drivers are not financial. I prefer intellectual rewards to trinkets and baubles.

Here is where I have problem.... You call your living "modest". I call my living "modest" too yet I clearly have extended my "penis" per your definition. :) BTW: Those yacht thingys are very nice for lots of reason. ;) Just because you do not understand something does not mean that thing has no value or use to others.

So who decides what "modest" is. If you do not work for 3 years and afford a laptop is that not the same as a person who has worked the past 3 years and afforded a car? I mean there are so many people in the world that are starving yet you have food to spare and a laptop as well despite the fact that you do not work!! ! No laptop? How about a TV and more than 1 set of clothing? Do you own these? What I am getting at is how do we make this so that everyone is equal and nobody is extending penis? Who defines what is modest in your system or view?

You've only extended very slightly :) You're hardly in Roman Abramovich territory. His is freaking huge!

I can appreciate them from an Engineering point of view I suppose, but I do find them rather vulgar. Of course I understand that not everybody feels the same way else there wouldn't be any super yachts. I just can't comprehend wanting one myself. You see, when you are super wealthy what else do you spend your money on? Does it all feel rather hollow and empty when you finally get it?

Therein lies the rub. I do not have the answers. I can only express my feeling of alienation from large parts of society.

However, rest assured that I'm not going to be calling at your home with a mob bearing pitchforks crying "Vive la revolution!" :)

LOL! Okay so the line is about 3 inches of extension then. Let's make the rule that if anyone extends to a full penis size that they are OVER the top!! :D :D :D :D I can haz new metaphor!

Some time ago I sat off the coast of a very impoverished village of Mexico on a several million dollar yacht with my bf and family. It made me sick to the stomach. I think I get what you are saying but I have never been able to articulate it either or to comprehend a solution. Personally having wealth beyond need is not a bonus for me. I really do not "get" finances and it becomes a job in itself to manage at some point. It also makes me excluded from every income group. I do not fit in with my peers because I do not view finances as they and haven't this concept of needing things. I do not fit in with lower income people either because they feel I am one of "those" people since I have more than I need, etc.. Net is that it is not that desirable for someone like me. That said I find great fulfillment when I can give to organizations and individuals who are in need. So not all empty and hollow...

With respect to these other guys... I don't really see a yacht, or a 100 plus K sports car or several properties as a problem if they otherwise pay taxes and give away many times more the average wage in this country. We should give and take as we have the means and need. If they earn enough to have a yacht and still contribute so much back to communities then why is that "vulgar" in any way? My guess is that all of these billionaires actually contribute back to society and communities at a similar ratio to their earnings and my experience directly with these people seems to hold that to be true. It is easy for people with little or with nothing to say that they would give away everything if they actually earned money but my guess is that if they were given the chance that they would chose to have some comforts too. :)

In this way, I do not feel contempt for those who you call out or their lifestyles but rather appreciation for what they do. That said, I too feel very, very far removed from these people and actually from most all NTs when it comes to money and material things.... But that has been my plight in this life from the day I hit the ground. I have never been part of this planet or its social norms and have never fit neatly into any "group". I am okay with this...

There is the point that in many northern European countries that the government takes that much of earnings in tax (40% and more isn't uncommon) that people don't feel that they should waste their money or their energy donating more.

I feel like I’m living in a jungle surrounded by chimps, they are very noisy, swinging from trees and throwing faeces at each other and sometimes at me. They think I should be one of them but they can’t convince me to be like them and I can’t convince them to be more like I am. I want to just get away from this chimp society and find a nice patch of jungle away from them and build a hut there but the chimps are everywhere and they own all the land. If I want to have a place to live at all I have to work for the chimps and collect useless tokens they give me until I have enough that they give me somewhere to live but to keep it I have to work for them for the rest of my life and live in their society and obey their rules.

Well that’s my crazy story over but how can I escape? If there was somewhere called Asperger’s Island I would move there but there isn’t Is there any hope of being free from a society I don’t belong in?

I had that jungly feeling earlier today when some ape was on my bumper and it was impossible to reverse. It was very annoying.
The only thing I suggest is finding a house in the middle of nowhere and live the humble yet enlightening life of a heirophantish hermit.
