There is a poll on here somewhere which actully ranks INFJ nr 8 ( I think it was 8 )among those who voted, so its still not uncommon although INTJ nd INTP seem to top the list.

Not sure what thread or part of the forum now but I remember feeling less alone when I noticed that :-)

LOL I actually edited my reply to you. I had started writing: "ooh you're an INFJ Aspie! Does that mean you're caring and sensitive and cuddly and friendly, instead of grumpy and awkward with a phobia of hugs? I feel like an alien amongst aliens, but I thought that would make all the INTs who are replying jump down my throat and hate me. Since you've said it first...

Seriously, though. I know people keep accusing me of stereotyping, but there seem to be two distinct Aspie types when it comes to physical contact. The ones who are awkward and don't know what to do - don't know how to hug or kiss, or even WHY they should want to have physical contact at all, unless it's to have an o r g a s m - and then the ones like me, who are cuddle monsters.

FunnyFairytale, are you a cuddle monster, too? :D

There's a woman claiming to be Aspie on Youtube, who talks about being hypersensitive to touch.

I am like that. Are you?

well, I am a woman and I allow touch everywhere but nipples. That will make me punch someone.I may allow it if I like a guy but too much, and I might punch him too *lol* and I have some sensory issues as well which can at times make me annoyed but as far as touch goes, I dont have a problem with it.Rather the other way around.

Also, I have AS but people who dont know me sometimes like to guess-diagnose me as adhd because they can see something being different but cant pinpoint it and while Im not hyper or have any attention problems, there are other signs that kinda overlap a bit.I have a friend who has been diagnosed ADHD and that diagnosis later changed to AS with some adhd or something and him and I are a lot alike, although Im way more calm than he is.He's like a storm in a waterglass as far as his energy levels and how restless he gets and Im just still water.Im just kinda floating around, chilling, haha.
So, first thought that comes to mind when people meet me is not AS at all, which is kinda funny.

Something to keep in mind :-)

all_white,

I can understand putting off getting assessed. It makes that you have Autism real. I realised this after finally getting dfiagnosed myself, and felt sad for a while because it meant I really was disabled, but that was temporary.

But still get assessed.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no correlation between personality and Autism. In other words, there are autistic people who are extroverted, perceptive, feeling, or intuitive. Though it is less common to have those attributes, and rarer to have several of them.

Personality capacity is shown to be strongly influenced by genetics in general, and the functions we tend or prefer to use are strongly influenced by the environment and upbringing. Autism's neurological differences can affect our psychological development in early childhood, impacting on social learning. A social deficit makes it harder to deal with the external environment (which includes other people and society), which can influence us towards the personality functions that are more commonly seen in Autism (like introversion). But the underlying genetic programming is not affected, and with support and the right life education an Autistic person can become better at working with their environment, increase empathy, build confidence and self-esteem, and this leads to them stepping outside their shell, which can lead to a more extroverted, feeling, perceptive or intuitive tendancy in personality.

Introversion correlates more with poor self-esteem or self-image, and Extroversion correlates with the opposite and greater social confidence. Changes in attitude and skill development, and self-assertion, can lead to a change in personality.

Thank you for your advice, but I am confused. Perhaps you are replying to the wrong thread and have confused me with somebody else.

I am NOT putting off getting assessed. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I have made it very clear that I am actively seeking a diagnosis. I don't know where you're from, but, in my country, it takes time to get referred.

Thanks
