Well, I'm not necessarily HYPER sensitive to either, but I'm definitely sensitive to heat. I'll walk around in shorts and a t-shirt or pants and a t-shirt in the middle of winter sometimes. I used to walk to my bus stop in highschool in shorts and a t-shirt when it was apparently 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Wherever I go, I'm pretty much ALWAYS warm, whether it's summer or winter.

In summer, nobody has the A/C high enough, or they don't turn it on til it's way too late for me. In winter, everyone seems to have the damn heat blasting to where it's about 80 degrees. I remember walking around the halls of school, sweating my ass off, in the middle of winter because they had the heat set to surface of the sun.

Now on the other hand, I don't like EXTREME cold anymore than I like the heat, but I feel the amount of heat I can deal with before getting uncomfortable is a lot less than the amount of cold I can deal with. And of course, it depends on what I'm wearing, whether there's wind or not, etc. Usually once it hits 60-65 degrees, I'll start getting hot and sweaty. But I don't usually get uncomfortably cold until it's around 30-40 degrees. And I'll go into the walkin freezer at work for long periods of time with no trouble at all. And when I am uncomfortably cold, it's my feet, hands, and face that are bothered the most. I jokingly refer to myself as an eskimo sometimes...

I like being warm, but I prefer cold over heat.

I hate summer, dislike winter, love the autumn, and am generally apathetic about spring.

I hate summer because it's load harder to cool down than it is to warm up in winter.
I only dislike winter because it usually includes harsh winds with the cold weather, which makes it almost unbearable.

I really prefer autumn because it's just the right temperature in my mind. It's just warm enough that all you need is a jacket to feel just right.

I sort of like the cold, actually. I think it's because I'm used to it.
My room's in the basement, and the basement is the coldest part of the house, sometimes.
My room's definitely the coldest room in the house.
I have a nest of blankets on my bed, and on the couch.

I voted for heat because I can't stand it. I can feel the sweat starting in my sweat glands and I don't really like the feeling. I also don't like how it feels on me and will never work in hot weather. I would rather be cold than be hot where I don't have to deal with the icky feeling. I do go naked in my apartment when it's hot out.

Though in cold weather, my hands get cold very easily than the rest of my body and when it's very cold out, my legs start to itch and pants rubbing against my legs feel itchy.

But when it's in the 40's or 50's I am not even cold and my husband is. I can even be wearing no clothes and I am fine. I used to get hot easily though but I think that was due to hormones, then it was I got too cold too easily. Now it seems like it's others who get cold and I am fine. But I have a strong reaction to the cold when the temperature changes all of a sudden because someone left the door open.

Heat for me, I would say it might be affected by my being overweight but I also dislike realy warm water when showering for example. One thing that bothers the hell out of me is how warm some stores have the AC especially during the winter, I dislike shopping at certain stores because they keep it to warm inside.

I'd say cold. Too much cold makes my muscles tense and makes me want to curl up somewhere and not move.

With too much heat I don't want to move either but then I'll be all stretched out and relaxed which is more comfortable.

Definitely heat. I sweat a lot and I do not the feeling of sweat on my skin, it is very uncomfortable. I often take cool showers twice a day in summer. I can't stand being sweaty! I am so glad I live in a dry climate where it doesn't get insanely hot.

It has to be very cold before I really start hating it. I don't live in a place that has bitter cold so it's not a problem.

Both. Extreme heat makes me sick to my stomach, and unable to function both mentally and physically. Extreme cold makes me unable to function, both physically and mentally.

It's not the exact temperatures that matter though. It's the swing from one extreme to another. I could live fine anywhere that stayed within a twenty degree range for any month long period. Like, I can take twenty below if it's like that all the time, or up to 100. I would prefer somewhere around 65 - 75 all year.

I've been told I ought to live somewhere in the north Mediterranean.

I live in New England, so the weather for me pretty much sucks for at least 3/4 of the year. :P

OK, everybody I know say they get ratty when it's hot or when they're hot, but I on the other hand get ratty when I'm cold. When I'm hot, yes I get a bit worn out and feel I'm gasping for a cold drink and to flag out on the floor, but that's to be expected. Otherwise, I don't complain. But when it's hot, I feel more motivated. I feel I want to go out into the garden more, and the sunshine makes me feel a lot more cheerful, and when I'm cheerful I can get up and do things. And it's always so cool in my house, even on the hottest summer day, so I can get more motivated. We had some hot days this summer, temperatures reaching upto 36 degrees C, but my fan hardly went on because the heat didn't seem to touch me. It only felt like about 26 to me (which is still hot enough I suppose).
But when I'm cold, I don't want to do anything except curl up in my bed all day and not come out. We can only afford limited heating, so I can't just have the heating on all the time, and so sometimes I freeze up and can't make a start on anything because I'm too cold to. So I begin to feel miserable. I've brought some fingerless gloves, so that I can keep my hands warm but still be able to do things. And I've brought slippers, because usually when my feet are warm, the rest of my body warms up. And I've got 2 or 3 pairs of scarves so I can always keep one on when the other one's in the wash. But sometimes I still get cold.

Here's a tip:-
If you get too cold in bed, lay on your tummy.
If you get too hot in bed, lay on your back.
It generally works for me.

Oooh, I'm one of the only nethers!

Well, I do have bad frostbite in the fingers and toes...so you'd think I'd be more susceptible to cold, right? But I'm not...

I lived in Minneapolis for 15 years. The only place on the planet that has such radical extremes of heat and cold is ... Siberia!

Living in Minnesota Gulag taught me how to tolerate temperatures that used to fry/freeze my brain. Here's the trick: don't use A/C, and turn your heat down to 55-65F. Yep. I learned this from being poor for many years. Using A/C makes you feel the heat more when you transition into it. Having your heat up at room temperature makes you feel the cold more.

It's like chronic pain management. You don't ignore the heat/cold, you accept it and "look through it."

This coming from someone who has almost no body fat at all...my danger is that the cold does not bother me anymore. So I stay longer in it than I should.
.

Just read Robert Jordan's "wheel of time series this summer, and there are people in the book that know a secret mental trick to overcoming heat & cold. Heck, any Minnesotan, Sconnie or Norkotan can do that just fine.

I'm much more sensitive to the heat than the cold. I don't like being cold, but I can definitely tolerate it over being in extreme heat. Where I live gets quite hot during the summer, and just "cold" in the winter; I'd like to live somewhere where it's mild in the summer, cold in the winter. I get heat rash or whatever and I tend to be in quite a bad mood when I have to be outside for extended periods of time during the summer.

I love the cool weather, though.

Definitely the heat. You can always put more layers on, but you can't always take them off. Plus I burn pretty easily. I used to be more resistant to cold than I am now, but I'm still better than average.

Cold, definitely. My hands and nose are frozen below 25 degrees celcius. I get neck pain from shaking in the winter, and at times, headaches . The cold exhausts me.
