I don't mean to be snarky but if all else fails, don't feel bad about talking to yourself or, as I prefer to call it, talking aloud. Studies show that it significantly helps thinking and, contrary to popular opinion, it won't make you go crazy (Although, if you do it all the time, it might be a sign that you're "crazy".). Just don't get in the habit where you must do so in public, lol...

Thank you for helping me with this and responding. I also feel better about myself knowing that I'm not the only one on WP who cries. At least the world didn't harden me to the point that I don't cry. I've never seen my mum cry when I was a child and I wonder how she did it and I thought that stoic adults were the norm. Thank you again.

I wish I felt more comfortable to cry. I guess I just never get to my breaking point.

As for my special interests... fandom is a very lonely thing, even when it comes to one of the favorite hobbies of the world: video games. Face-to-face fandom comrades are never encountered... they are too few and far in between.
Oh, for someone to play Mario games with!

I do it all the time and I have no mental illness other than some depression at times when I become physically ill but that's because I can't do the all the things I want to do.

I believe all that stuff you hear about people talking to themselves all the time might be a sign or infact mean that they are crazy, is nothing but a lot of hot air.

I think it's the people who are talking and saying things out loud to themselves but are not making any kind of sense are the one's who might have some kind of mental illness.

Personally I don't really have any burning desire to share my interests with other people. And yes, I count myself lucky for that. I remember when I was much younger I used to be so focused, almost compulsively... I find my current arrangement is much better for me. I don't know exactly when or how I changed.

I know that, and I was saying that suggesting that's someone's chance of finding like-minded individuals on the basis of matching particular, specialized interests is kind of foolish. It goes beyond interests and I'm sure tetra has a much better chance of finding like minded individuals than you suggest.

I wasn't being mean.. it's just a fact that sea creatures are less popular than videogames. Lol whatever. People know when their interests aren't very common. I never said anything more than that and I don't see any reason for you to try and 'defend' her.

I like you a lot. You were one of the first people who welcomed me many years ago to this site. Okay so I don't LOVE the Kinks, but I have no issue with you talking about them. Same as the guy who lives next door who loves tractors. In fact because he talks so much about tractors I actually got interested myself! It is quite funny actually because every time I see a post from you I hear the Kinks in my head! Always this one:

I think my main interest is Aspergers/mental health (probably not a healthy interest!) so no one really notices how obsessive I can get, but when I talk about rabbits... Plus I am into Pokémon A LOT so be warned fellow WP members, you may get a lot of Pokémon related posting soon :S

I'm not going to censor myself anymore. I was having flashbacks of the time that Routemasters were my special interest and another member was making me his project, getting me not to post about those buses so much. It got to the point where I clammed up and gave him less of a response with each PM that he sent me and he was getting to be more blunt with each PM until I've answered with a simple, "OK....whatever you wish." and than he sent a nasty message back saying in nasty words that our friendship was over. I sent him a message thanking him for friendship while it lasted. He sent me a very nasty letter filled with anger and abuse, than I went off the deep end and went to the dark side. That's what the 70s Punk thing was about. I don't want the same thing happening again. If I'm going to go on tangents about The Kinks, I ask that you let me do so and don't try to make me your project to "fix" me, if I seem to obsessive or intense.
