Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and their movies - I've had this obsession for almost 2 years now. It waxes and wanes in intensity, and I get really upset when it's on the downswing. Right now I'm satisfactorily obsessed, so I'm happy.

Technically I'm only really obsessed with a handful of specific movies Tim and Johnny have done together: Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd and Edward Scissorhands. I'm also highly anticipating their next big feature, Dark Shadows. I've been keeping track of it on Google News since before it began production. I went nuts when the first photos of Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins were posted, and I know I'll have a massive freak-out when a trailer finally gets released.

Always nice to meet a fellow fan.

I saw in your earlier post that you love Nightmare Before Christmas. It's a really good movie even though it's not one of my special interests. I know a guy at my mom's job who is so obsessed with it that he goes to the Nightmare-themed Haunted Mansion at Disneyland every Halloween, he has a Jack Skellington tattoo and for a brief period of time he had a dog named Sally.
Yep, the Haunted Mansion is awesome, especially when it's TNBC. I went to the museum of art in Los Angeles when they had the Tim Burton exhibit a while ago. They had stuff like costumes from Batman, the Edward Scissorhands suit, Beetlejuice stuff, Nightmare stuff...it was awesome.
Lucky! I wanted to go to that exhibit
so badly, but I can't drive and nobody would drive me there, so I missed it. I came really close to tears over not being able to go. But at least Tim himself wasn't there, or else I would have had a full-blown meltdown over missing it.
Would you be able to take a bus or a train? You would have to plan ahead and maybe even book a hotel for a night or two (if it's long distance) but at least you would be able to go to the next exhibit.
My obsessions are:
Pigs -I just recently cleaned out a whole pig's head that I got from the supermarket, and I hope to get everything off of it before it smells (it's for the skull.) I didn't have one of my own already and I wasn't about to order one off the Internet as it costs about $60 without including the shipping and handling. It been taking a while to clean, and the worst part was having to clean the inside of the head, as that was tedious. But at least I didn't have to pay too much for it.
Star Wars -Right now I can't watch the Clone Wars series until my computer gets fixed, so I'm waiting for some books to come out instead. SW: Darth Plagueis and SW: Wrath of Darth Maul are coming out sometime in early January, so I don't have that much longer to wait.
Duke Nukem Pigcops -I find these creatures so fascinating. They are one of my major obsessions, and 'Pigs' is an offshoot of this. I think out of all the versions of pigcops, the ones in Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project look the best and the ones in Duke Nukem 3D have the best idea (they are mutated police officers.) If in the future the game developers ever combined the awesome look of the MP's pigs and the idea of DN3D's, I would be overcome with pure joy.
