I found my own very cute, but he was exceptionally cute.. Others, not so much... I'm not very good with very little ones, can't pull silly faces or make stuff up.. I'm quite practical though and will happily follow a toddler round and keep them out of mischief and amused while they explore..

At least with animal babies they grow up pretty fast so any newborn ugliness they might have is quickly outgrown. Some are adorable as soon as they pop out.

This is a baby chinchilla. They are fully furred and have their eyes open at birth.

Aww. Love the baby chinchilla. I'd get one myself, but my house gets too hot in the summer for them to be comfortable. (Being mountain creatures they apparently like their rooms cool.)

my sentiments exactly.

nothing more annoying than a screaming child, and i have had plenty of years hand raising and cleaning up after animals, and i still prefer the animals!

that said, my best friend has four kids (aged a few months to 5yo), and when they're being good they're beautiful :)

When they're bad, they tweak every fibre of my being

My first experience with being shown a co-worker's new baby did not go well. I succinctly replied "Yep, that's a baby all right." She promptly found someone more skilled at the kinds of polite, inane compliments she was looking for.

I used to feel the same way until my nephew was born.

I don't find babies cute and never have. They're loud, annoying, they stink and you can't interact with them on a meaningful level for over a decade. I'm sure babies are fun, but they can be fun for someone else. Keep them away from me.

I agree. I cannot stand babies for the same reasons. Especially when they start drooling everywhere.

Now, THAT should be a brand new thread...how we feel about the elderly.

Personally, I don't like them at all. It's almost a phobia. It's probably worse because of the type of work I do...I have to check people in when they come in to work out, and I'm constantly annoyed by people rudely coming in to interrupt my thoughts (of course I know they aren't being rude...that's just the way I perceive it), and the elderly are particularly worse, because I have to stop whatever I'm doing to acknowledge them enter, then have to watch them take forever to get to the desk, forever to find their scan card, and forever to hand it to me. It feels like an eternity.

I also don't like the elderly, because they tend to ask the most mundane questions, and they always feel the need to make a remark about their day or crack some weird joke that I don't understand, and I find myself constantly having to force some goofy smile at them.

Last, despite being almost 26, I'm still a complete child, and feel like the elderly are constant reminders of what will one day happen to me.

Yeah, I don't like old people. :?

Didn't Jerry Seinfeld have a routine about that? Everyone bothers you with pictures about the baby, but no one shows you pictures of their grandpa? Even though turning 86 is much more a feat than turning 2?

I think a lot of NTs also don't find babies cute. But socially, you HAVE to tell your friend that her baby is "SO CUTE", that's the NT, polite thing to do. The fact you might not realise that 90 per cent of people lie in the face of new moms so as to be polite is an AS thing. Finiding babies gross is natural as in fariness, they can be. :)

No. Not at all. Though for different reasons than babies.
