The weakness of these tests is that they measure pure observation. In the real world when you throw in having to multitask (input/output) things get trickier.
I'll have to agree with that
With me, well I have very different signals on those tests compared to the AQ test
- AQ test 43/50 - very Aspie, or so I thought.
but then...
- "Reading the mind in films":19 / 22 in 14.3 seconds - Very NT
this was despite people talking to me at the same time and asking my opinions on other subjects.
- FQ 75/150, very NT
Either I'm not an Aspie or maybe I just have inattentive ADHD ; or like was said here, those observation tests are different from the real world with people around me. It seems many aspies are getting good scores on the observation tests. Cohen's team should have done those observational tests when the subjects were being spoken to and constantly being prodded with different 'social' interuptions throughout the test. Then there would have been a bigger correlation. Mind you, that's the environment in which I did the observational test, and still got overly NT scores. So now I'm really confused.
