Dandruff yes for sure, I have seborrhoeic dermatitis. A disportionately high number of autistics have it. So I have heard.

In chronological order...

Birds, specifically the latin names of birds.
Elfquest, the comic. What did I see in it?
Formula One Racing of the 1970's.
The Lord of the Rings. The books, the movies less so.
Star Trek. Yup, Spock.
Japanese antique textiles
Old maps
Rosaries. I have 70+, oh and I'm an atheist
Nightcrawler of the X-men.(used to have website)
Weight loss . Very useful, lost 25 kilos.
And currently, nail polish.

They seem to wear out quicker these days, and I even had a time during a depression when there was nothing. How empty and miserable life was! I felt like part of me had died. Now that I know I'm not the only one who has these wierd obsessions and recognize the function they have I feel less embarassed:)

I was obsessed with fluorescent lights when I was around 8-9 years old, and that obsession lasted for about half a year. I was obsessed with human anatomy as a kid, and had to have a skeleton beside my bed every night. And hey, being obsessed with Asperger's isn't that odd! It's only natural for human beings to become obsessed with something or someone they could identify with, because it makes them feel good, and that's what obsessions are all about!

Killer Sudoku has been an obsession of mine for quite a while.

I was going to say The Kinks, but there are lots of people, AS or NT who are obsessed with the 1960s, in one way, or another. I'm obsessed with Jesus, and that's pretty unusual in today's world.

I am the same; when I go through a period without a special obsession (like now) I feel so depressed. I feel happy and alive with one.

I like this point. I hadn't really thought but I get the same. Maybe not depressed, but there is something really quite 'energizing' about a full on focussed 'special interest'.

This is the only place that I'm open about my unusual obsessions. I avoid talking about them, off the Internet, as much as possible. I've learned the hard and painful way through my childhood, to keep them to myself. Part of it was me, and part of it, was my parents being pricks.
