Let's see... Lifelong, I have been into cars. I have built several of them from the ground up and do all of my own body work, painting, wiring, and mechanical work. I even dabble in upholstery work too. I also love engineering and rebuilding things from scrap to try and come up with a better, cheaper way to achieve some new functionality for my life. Right now, I have a goal of 50 mpg in city driving from one of my Geo Metros, and have been gathering the parts to build it for over a year now. This will help me with my goal of building the ultimate pizza delivery car.

Other things I have researched or dabbled in:

Analyzing the history and inherent flaws of Marxism
Economics (especially Austrian school)
Cold war history, specifically nuclear testing and the culture of fear that arose around it (Duck and Cover!)
Civil Defense bomb shelters and the equipment issued to them
The Soviet Union
The 1960's
Kirby vacuum cleaners
Sewing machines
Gardening
IKEA
Anime
WWII
Hypermiling
Comparative religions
Biblical eschatology
Energy efficiency and sustainable living
Republican party politics
Libertarianism
And many, many more things I have obsessed over through the years. Of course, it goes without saying that my current obsession is learning more about autism.

Asperger's is my current obsession. Just found out about it. It has replaced all other obsessions except making money.

I was a bit obssesed with learning about Asperger's in 2006-2009ish. Asperger's Syndrome seems to be a common obsession here.

I have 3 mainstay obsessions, and usually one or two transient ones now & then, which sometimes pull me away from the 3 mainstays for a month or so. I won't burden this thread with redundancy on those 3, but my obsession at the moment, is our pool and spa out back of the house, and the landscaping & hardscaping around it. We've had this house for 6 years, and I never cared for the pool & spa (just a cause for bills and repairs and no use). It has a natural rock waterfall, and that had not been working in years. Lately, since I broke my arm and needed the spa to help make it heal faster (and it did!! !!), I realized how nice it can be. I repaired the waterfall (new pump and filter, and all new up-to-code electrical wiring & plumbing), and then I installed some decorative lighting (a few floodlights upward into trees, etc), and some gentle background uplights below the spa. The house is basically on a mountainside with the pool and spa out on the edge of a cliff, so the way I did it makes you feel like you're sitting in the sky. And did a little work on the plants and trees, and now I have it like one of those tropical grotto spas in Las Vegas! I even plumbed in a gas torch, and may plumb in an underwater flame. Don't worry that I'll cause a fire or anything... I'm a qualified and licensed electrician and have plenty of experience and knowledge of gas plumbing and gas appliance repair and safety, etc. , as well.

Pictures when I get it exactly how I want it...

It's mainly Dragonball right now. I've been a big fan for about 12 years now, but I can go for months without reading/watching/playing it, then I just fall back into it in a major way.
