Agnostic. If there is a God, god, or gods for that matter, they'd be well beyond our ability to understand or even perceve them. However I'm not above picking apart religons and incorporating parts I like into my personal philosophy.

I believe there is a god somewhere or somehow.

But I also believe organized religion can be terrible and destructive much of the time. Organized religion is often more damaging than contructive.

Nothing wrong with believing in something, in my opinion, it gives me something to look forward to later on.

I practice Tantric Shaivism (also known as Kashmiri Shaivism or Kashmiri Tantra). "God" - Shiva - is perceived as the totality of the universe and existence, matter/energy, I suppose what a physicist might call the quantum field. He is not outside or above everything; he IS everything; and in such a view there is really no dilemma about assigning him blame for terrible things that happen in the world, because he is not a controller of the play so much as both multipart participant and observer.
I do find the God concept problematic when attempting to conceive of him as most of the major religions do (especially Christianity), exactly for the reasons stated in the original post. Inconsistency, illogic and unlikelihood render such a view untenable for me personally.

I'm agnostic because I believe that religion has too much sway in the American way of thinking, to me it's almost like a 'christian' Taliban is trying to establish itself as our government. I also think it's ludicrous how many people are ignorant of what science and reason tell us.

Atheist. But I also enjoy Buddhism to find some inner balance/peace of mind whatever you wanna call it. Most religions are just variations of the same theme anyway, its pretty dumb. We wont know the truth until we perish and no God or entity worthy of belief would punish someone like me. 8)

I'm something between a natural scientist, a pagan, and a Christian. I clicked "Other" 'cause the combination wasn't there... :)
