Okay I talked to the police

The good news are:
They found his parents, they are both still alive and I got the telephone number of his mother. :)

The bad news are:
His parent's don't even want to pay the funeral. 8O
So, the city has to pay for it, how it looks like at the moment.

Are you sure they don't want to pay for it, or is it that they can't afford to?

If the former, then they are cruel and heartless.

I don't know exactly, I have this information from the police and they don't prove the social status. In the end it's not their business who pays for the funeral and why. They also don't have the right to.

I think it's a bit both. So far I heard their social status is not the best. But they also didn't have contact with their own son since he was little. He even didn't know if his parents are still alive and even didn't searched for them.
Mother and son were practically living in the same city and didn't know from each other.

I also wanted to add, that it was officially clearly an accident, not suicide.
But of course they can't tell in how far he maybe drove fast because didn't care about his life.

Good Grief... the city will pay for the cremation and likely hand you the ash urn if no one else wants it. It might be a cardboard small box they give you.
There likely won't be a funeral unless you want to have a small service for your friend. The state will only pay for cremation and burial in a potters field, unless you opt to take the ashes.
