This seems way too idealized to me. I have read too much about how the disabled are really treated in most countries to buy into this.

There was a brief clip of a Mohawk shaman talking about "Aspies as Shaman(s)" that Alex posted 10 years ago. I was hoping there'd be a full interview (if not a whole series) with him, but I didn't find any more. It would be cool to hang out with a shaman and learn some things.

"Countries" are large groups where many sub-groups form and compete. Tribal societies follow the natural rule of primate troop size relative to brain mass, and seldom exceeded 150 members per village until they were forced onto reservations. Thus, everyone could be known and treated as an individual. The smallest possible sample size is still over .5%, so no manifestation is insignificant or really strange.
