Not sure why this happens, but people often think I'm joking when I'm serious and am serious when I'm joking. I often have to clarify. It gets annoying sometimes - makes me wish I could banter normally like the rest of 'em.

Yes, I'm the epic fail Cady Heron from Mean Girls when she says she has bad breath in the morning. Sometimes I miss the intricacies of what is appropriate self-deprecating humor and what is just pathetic/weird.

I have dry humor, meaning, everything looks like a prune when I talk.

My sense of humor is just like my taste in music: it's mixed all around.

Mostly the first two, although it depends on what you mean by 'goofy'.

I like what I'm reading in this thread. So much of what I've read in studies and texts says that Aspies don't have a sense of humor or don't get jokes or sarcasm. This thread shows that we are as silly and funny as anybody else. :)

Yeah, I hate those stereotypes. I don't think a single one of them fits me. I'm not Sheldon.

I like supertruth humor most. Next would be bizarre connections. When race-car designers wanted carbon-fiber brake disks, they had to use amorphous carbon as the binder, and then give it an airtight, ceramic coating. When the coating developed flaws, the result was known as "Designer Coal."

My friends tend to think it's kinda funny when I drop a sarcasm bomb on them and I don't know why. Maybe they think I'm being over-the-top. In any case I sound like Daria when I make a joke.

i dont really have a sense of humour. i am a very serious person and i dont do jokes or other forms of social banter that people do. i dont laugh very much either, but i am not miserable in myself. im actually happy in myself, but to others i am very standoffish.
