with what was left over, i'd move to either pacific beach, ocean shores, long beach [washington state], the north clallam county coast on the straits [of Juan de Fuca], port angeles or sequim. i'd live on a cliff overlooking the water in a modest bungalow. i'd get me a restored '93 cadillac sedan de ville, pink on pink. i'd get a thoroughly restored '84 Conn model 653 theatre organ and accessory leslie speakers in stereo surround. above all, i'd have real comprehensive health insurance! i'd have some moles removed. lipo for the stubborn donut around the umbilicus. age spots lasered away. orthopedic issues dealt with.

I know a guy who has a pipe organ in his house. He is building it in himself. It is not finished, but what is there is playable. My Christmas dinner tomorrow is at the house next door to his house.

If I won, I would have several options for places to live (in approximate order of likelihood):
1) tear down the farm house and rebuild it in a Santa Fe style
2) buy a house in the nearby town
3) buy an empty lot on Main Street and build something similar to a townhome on it
4) move to the Ruidoso - Alto or Cloudcroft area in New Mexico (average July high in low 80s)
5) move to Alamogordo or Las Cruces, New Mexico (much hotter, but dry)
6) move to a cool suburb in a large city such as Mt Adams in Cincinnati, Ohio.
7) move to a college town in Oklahoma or Kansas provided I could use the library there -- probably either Stillwater in Oklahoma or to Manhattan or Lawrence in Kansas.
8) get a nice downtown condo in a big city where condos aren't overpriced. Something within walking distance of a number of restaurants and other places to go and also with good medical facilities nearby and decent public transportation. Preferably with a major or minor league baseball team.

If I won one of the nine-figure jackpots here, I'd have a place in Montpellier, a place in Perth and a place in Salem, MA. I'd help out people I know are deserving (as in I have known them for a long time and know they are great people). As for the rest, read the Count of Monte Cristo. ;)

If I won the biggest lottery my main focus would be to find a really comfortable way of travelling, so I will be able to enjoy it in stead of suffering from sensory overload all the time. I like the idea of being able to hire some full time professional assistance to plan things out for me so my stress levels would be significantly lower, although I don't now if I would be able to stand that level of decadence in myself.

If I won a very large prize, I would hire research assistants. We would build more versions of my vehicle frame with integrated suspension, and promote their use. All our finished vehicles would carry more than they weigh empty, and most would be intended for going robotic on the main roads in trains of similar traffic.
I'd hire younger people to produce, by 3-D printing, a robot about the size of a dachshund that would completely tend a patch of organic permaculture, increasing food output and nutrition, and managing things to sequester carbon. It would have all knowledge of seeds, soils, and symbiosis, and would select the best seeds for the next generation, either on-site or through trading.

One thing that would be tempting to do in my community with a part of a large prize would be to set up a group home for senior citizens with significant ties to my community -- either lived in the community or are members of the church. Something that would range from supportive living to assisted living.

Probably about ten to twelve beds would be enough -- it's a small community. Right now, there would probably be seven beds occupied (two related to me), but there would likely be demands for more in the next two or three years. The people living there would pretty much know everyone else and since it would be in the community, it would be easily available for many relatives to visit daily and volunteer to help out.

There is a place across the road from the church that could probably be made available since the couple who own the land could find themselves needing to find something like that for themselves in the next ten to fifteen years. That would make it easier for those living there to go to church. Also, a camera and sound system could be set up to pipe the church services to the home. There would be room enough for a vegetable garden for those interested in gardening.

The idea would be to build the home and to set up a trust that would provide enough to keep it running indefinitely and be able to waive any fees necessary for those who could not afford them.
