Not sure all of these are stims, but here's my list:

- Rubbing my hands together
- Rubbing my feet together or move them from side to side
- Move my toes back and forth
- Fidget/fiddle with things
- Talking to myself
- Rubbing the skin just above my left eyebrow
- "Examining" my left hand (not actually examining it, just staring at it while thinking)
- Staring
- Rocking back and forth sometimes
- When I was younger I used to rock from side to side a lot

Leg-bobbing (drives people nuts), wigging my feet, chewing gum or biting on stuff (pens, hard plastic objects, etc...), jumping around, pacing, talking to myself, humming or singing to myself, playing with stress balls or tennis balls (either fiddling with them in my hands or tossing them in the air and catching them), picking up and fiddling with objects, picking at fingernails, reciting entire scenes from movies or video clips (in character, no less!), swaying back and forth while standing, rocking, biting my lip, twirling my hair (especially when tired), feel my teeth with my tongue...I think that covers most of the big ones for me.

- Jaw clenching ( though not as often nowadays)
- Skin picking, this one still kicking my ass, especially past few months since my Mother passed away.
- Typewriter leg
- Slight rocking
- Staring at lights
- Smoking
- Biting inside of my cheek
- Touching my face / beard
- Hand stims such as making fist and then relaxing, playing with my fingers, rubbing fingers together, scraping fingernail against skin on my knuckles creating a wound or at very least calluses.
- Rambling

Think thats majority of them now, doh

is picking at skin on your hand a stim? I do that an awful lot. Its really gross but I can't seem to not do it.

I'm seeking diagnosis and the stim thing and "unusaul gait" was the main things I didnt really recognise in me when I looked at the indicative lists.

Is it things you do when you are nervous?

-Bouncing my leg.
-Clapping my hands and trying to clap with one hand.
-Rocking back-and-forth and swaying side-to-side
-Kicking my legs.
-I used to twirl my hair around my finger, but I always got knots in my hair, so now I usually twirl my necklace, earphones, or the string on my hoodie.
-When I'm excited or in a hyperactive mood, I jump up and down while flapping my hands and chanting a word in an American English accent then repeating it again in a British English accent.
-Pace around, especially in circles.
-Drumming my legs or a table.
-I play the air piano. (Usually peers don't notice my stims, but they do tend to notice this one. A couple friends didn't understand that I couldn't really help it and they poked and harrassed me into stopping.)
-When I'm in the pool, I constantly flap my hands and beat the water, among other things.
-Humming or mouthing the lyrics to a song in a foreign language (yeah, for some reason, the song is never in English).
-When I was younger, I used to blow saliva bubbles.
-Picking on and biting the skin around my fingernails.

When I was younger I used to pick at the skin under my finger nails for about one or two years. I used to pick at them and then peel the skin. So gross now that I think back at it. For me I think it was a nervous habit and also something I'd do when I'm bored, sometimes without realizing it.

I used to flap my hands when I was excited.

Also, until I was about 12 years of age, I could only ever get to sleep by rocking my head from side to side. Not violently, but quicker than one would expect, from someone who's trying to sleep. It worked, though, and nothing else did.

I scratch my head when I'm stressed - still do it. I have to make sure my nails are short if work is getting stressful, otherwise I can unintentionally do myself some damage.

Surely not all of these are stims, but:
- pacing
- fiddling with things while thinking (I look at thing and imagine that it's a part of something bigger, e.g. train or rocket and just play with it, it helps me think, it may look a little bit "ret*d", but I just can't resist it)
- rubbing my hands (not sure if I did it as I child, my friend told me about it after my presentation)
- rubbing my feet together (especially when they're wet or sweaty)
- cracking joints (I'm extremely addicted to it)
- bouncing or swinging legs (popular NT stim)
- pulling my beard (before I got rid of it)
- rubbing my skin when sweaty
- pulling and twisting my armpit skin/hair
- smelling my sweat
- vocalizing (loudly singing/whistling certain melodies when alone, not sure if stim, but I really like my "noise")
- tapping a rhythm (especially during boring and loud classes in the past)

I don't think I stim in quite the same way as some other Aspies, but I do tend to fidget and fiddle a lot. Give me a rubber band, I'm gauranteed to break it. Give me a paper clip, and I'll bend it out of shape. I also like to tap or knock on my desk at school, and I generally like touching things in stores, etc. I like walking through dried leaves or chrunchy snow, and on occasion I will rapidly vibrate my leg up and down while sitting.

I chew the inside of my lip or my cheek, rip my fingernails (the nail is so fragile I don't even have to bite it most times), pick at hangnails, clench my teeth, claw at my hands or wring my hands, hum to myself, talk to myself quietly, and pacing are some of the big ones.

I only do one thing, and that is when sitting down, I tend to move my right leg up and down rapidly. I will do this for a few minutes then stop.
