Though I lived in New England as a child, I still have a hard time with the cold. If it's 55F or below, I stay inside.
I predict that if you had not done that, someone you loved would have gotten either upset or got shouted at for not getting dressed up or catch a cold. SOmeone in your childhood you were conditioned to instinctively choose that reaction becasue it felt (by the reaction you got) the best solution. The issue is, you dont really feel it. You can do fine with less clothes even if its a bit cold. You can withstad it.
You did as a kid until -from the reactions you got learned to finally 'feel' cold even if you were not. Cold frustrates you more than it bothers you. You dont want to dress up, but you also dont want the weird annoying reactions. If you truly follow your sense, you will see that I am right. I used to do the same thing util I realized what was it about cold! Now it doesnt bother me that much. Cold is not bad. It keeps the bacteria in low activity. That is why we dont get easily a cold if we dont dress up too much. Our body instinctively knows.
Try it a few times and tell me if I am wrong....
