How do I handle my loneliness?
Yes. I learned English mostly form the Internet and from a young age(7 or so). At school I often got high in grades in English class and for this my teacher often commended me. Krabo is Finnish and he has good English too. Maybe this talent is a perk of being an aspie, I don't know. But I would gladly trade my Asperger's for average NT wiring. It would be so worth it. Professional success, money, friends, partying, flirting, love, sex...the world is at your feet when you are NT.
Loneliness doesn't exist in the NT dictionary, but it's an inevitable effect of being on the spectrum.

I know plenty of poor miserable neurtotypicals. Loneliness plagues us all indiscriminately. It's part of the human condition. You're starting to sound like another member I know and you don't want to become like that. We make our own miracles.

They are similar, but I don't know Finnish. I also don't know any NTs who are lonely. On Facebook all I see is "X was with Y at restaurant Z" and selfies with flirty comments. Being NT is a fun fulfilling life, and every minute of it is worth living. Those people are constantly on the wave, cruising through life in blissful ignorance with no effort at all. They get in and out of relationships like it was nothing, they have hundreds of friends(in real life), they get to have sex with anyone they want, they always have money to buy anything they please. Such luxury. All it takes is a normal brain. But no, I was born with autism!
EDIT: found that girl on Facebook, she is in a relationship so I won't contact her.
You're just torturing yourself.
People are notorious for being deceptive. Facebook provides a means of escape from the dull and dismal existence most of them deal with.
Facebook is like a soap opera.
Furthermore, someone writing "In a relationship" might be nothing more than a means of getting their parents, girlfriends or potential "suitors" to stop pestering them about being single. Doesn't mean it's true.
Ya know...
If we don't get threads on WP complaining about "lying NT's" then we get threads about how much better NT's are just because NT's write a bunch of make-believe on their facebook pages. That's absurd.
Something I really enjoy about many spectrumites is that they live in a fantasy world and enjoy sharing it as the fantasy that it is. They're honest about it.
"Normals" live in a fantasy world and expect everyone to believe that the lies comprising their fantasy world are all true because "it's polite" to play along with them. It's all a double-think sham.
One reason "normals" hate spectrumites so much is because spectrumites don't "play the game."
Stop torturing yourself for NT's. They ain't worth it. So many of them are lying hypocrites and no matter what pains I have to suffer with my neurology at least I can say that I try to see things how they are and I try to be honest about reality as I see it rather than writing a bunch of bull about my status-seeking and transparently fake perfect life on facebook.
Being honest is something NT's struggle with. Yet honesty is something I and many of you don't have a problem with. Be happy about that if nothing else. I'm not going to torture myself just because I try to be honest and the majority of NT's don't. That's ridiculous.
I do to, I crave friends but am not capable of making them. I also often feel very alienated.

Apologies for my previous post.
I have a tendency to be loud, opinionated and generally obnoxious because that's the way I cover up my own dull and dismal life.
Maybe I say hurtful and offensive things because I want other people to hurt like I do. Or maybe I'm just trying to help them with tough love or something. I don't know what my motives are these days.
It is very possible though that your participation on facebook is making you miserable - especially if you're depressed and consequently torturing yourself by choosing to believe the positive hype people post about their lives.
NT's suffer a feeling of "circling the drain" just as "people like us" do, believe it or not. They cover it up differently with status-seeking and posting pictures of stupid sports cars they can't afford or elephants they've shot or whatever and then put it on facebook as though that's their public trophy shelf.
It's kinda sad really...and then they make themselves feel even better when they bully people like us who don't seem to make the same sacrifices that they do while they're chasing after those things that they think makes them better than us. They don't understand our way of dealing with reality and take offence to it.
Realising these things, and assuming I'm right of course, because I might be wrong, still doesn't help you though does it.
I'm sorry about that.
Personally, I don't look for friends. I look for projects. If the project isn't there...I make one. People join. Some of those people will like you personally for creating the project because the quality of the project denotes some of the quality of who you are. People can be drawn to that. Your work will speak for you and people will "feel" who you are through the "feeling" you put into your work.
There must be something you want to do. It doesn't matter what it is. Music, art, philosophy? Try and focus on achieving something with your interests and let that bring you into contact with people who might resonate with what you're trying to do and you personally. You could also join someone else's project that you "feel" is right with you and see if you get on with the people who are part of it.
When you look at a piece of art that you appreciate...don't you "feel" something? Try telling the artist what their art made you feel. Have a conversation about it. Find out if they go to cons or shows or galleries, meet them in person, shake their hand. Alternatively, you could be that artist...and someone could be looking for you, because they want to shake your hand.
Your issues are VERY common amongst those in the autistic community (or at least according to my psychologist. The desire for friends but not willing to do the actions that give you friends.
Kyle, you need to give a little tit-for-tat. socializing and friend making is a very neurotypical thing, in order to get friends and relationships you need to play the part. sad and true. I was the same way when i was 13, it was only when i dropped out of school and was so lonely i had to go to the hospital i realized that if i want friends i would have to try REALLY hard.

Capital idea chap. Zuck just wants more billions in PR funds to "give away" so he can wrap the globe in a censored ISP. The guy rakes in billions of ad dollars yearly making people confused, angry & yes lonely. As an Estonian, I as a coder am well aware you're in the right spot in history to do something about that. Technology can be freeing if you reconcile with its' mechanisms.

Actually, Qimera, i really like this post. I understand why you apologized...but it is very true, if a bit blunt. i have done the same thing as Kyle Katarn--look at other people's stuff on facebook and think "woe is me." The grass is often greener, and NTs have their problems. I'll take my aspie problems over the hypocrisy of the NT world any day. And i don't believe they are evil...but i don't want to be one of them. I like me. I have also come to mostly dislike facebook.
Maybe that is what it comes down to, for those who look longingly at an NT world wishing not to be autistic. You have to like you, to be happy.
I often find I feel lonesome on occasions when I do not have a special interest to occupy my unhinged mind. Yet when I am surrounded by others - excluding close family members - I feel even more lonely. Unfortunately it's a lose-lose situation. I am envious of those on spectrum who can focus for what seems like an interminable amount of time on what they are passionate about.
Speaking as a HFA adult with a below average IQ, I often ask myself this: Is my life worth living? If I am not smart enough to go to college or even find employment, then what is the point of carrying on? I am friendless; asexual; bored 99.99% of the time and seldom understand a word or gesticulation a NT expresses.

I always think that maybe people who feel this way should become some type of activist and put all your energy into that. Idk what you think though.
JakeASD, do you find pleasure in something in life? Your life is worth it, to be you. It is great to do things with our lives, but we all have different talents, abilities, and levels of ability. It is worth living, to have things you enjoy, and family who loves you (sounds like you do, if you are not lonely with close family members), and just enjoy a beautiful day, a pretty sunset...just being alive. You are here for a reason. I don't know you well enough to say what that reason may be...but i don't think that your life is not worth living just because you have HFA and its struggles. We all have struggles. Those are yours. I am not belittling your struggles and saying they are not hard...if they were not difficult they would not bother you. But they do not make you worthless. Know what i mean?
I was in a terrible mood last night. I apologise if my message inferred that I was contemplating suicide. However, I derive no pleasure from anything at all; I am generally devoid of any real emotion and my incapacity to learn new things is deeply infuriating. Moreover, I am a talentless autistic adult, which wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't quite so self-aware. Consequently, my whole entire existence feels utterly futile.
