How to spot a manipulator?

When someone who usually acts passive aggressive and disrespectful goes out of their way to help you once in a while.

^Yes. The only difference about me is that I always go outside of the usual way of doing things when I know I can help. It's one way to live.

An other typical behaviour of manipulators is:
Saying "This is true",
when they have just told you that This is wrong.

(Seeing nothing wrong with contradicting themselves)

This is manipulative technique, helping to spot a manipulator.
(although not sufficient to say "this is a manipulator", but very typical).
