Diagnosis is in...
Spurn instead of Cern.
The Believa-U-Mi was a Marx Brothers/Three Stooges type of thing like getting degree from Whatsamatta U.
The addy ended with .nod as in, time to go to sleep....
I think I went a bit tangential. It makes sense in my head. But, it's got a split level and I occupy the basement only.
Warning, warning:
Reader may be literal.
Kidding, well, kinda. I did get excited for a minute!! But looking back

I was out hiking with my dad one time in the swamp areas of Texas/Louisiana areas. We came across this really cool looking skimmer boat. The kind you drag behind a real boat and just skim and slide on the surface.
I told him how badly I wanted it because it was so cool. He told me that I could pack up for a while, hike out there and just wait for them to come and pick it up. I was 11.
Well, I went into the school telling the kids how I was going to get to go out in the swamps, camp and wait. The next thing I knw, I was in front of the principal being questioned about running away. I had them call my dad. I had to remind him of the boat and what he said. He laughed and informed he was being sarcastic.
Now, the blindness in him is this: He and my grandparents were always making fun of me for being so gullible.
No reason for trust issues are there, eh?

Ha, I find it amazing that my evaluator pulled out 'trust issues'.
Uh, I don't have trust issues!! I trust everyone!! !
(I thought, maybe I don't? Must analyze)... <joke <(may have to add that to my signature).

My trust issues were well ingrained into me. I was always beat for lying. But the people who were doing that, were also telling me things like "Don;t tell you mother this..." or "Don't tell your step-father that"
So, beat me for lying and then tell me to lie. WTF?
So much more, but all of that would require an info dump and I am struggling to curb that.

Sounds like your people met/taught my people.
Been there, done that, in other words.
Is this similarity common across the boards of undiagnosed autistic people? Or are we just strikingly similar in history disregarding the age/location/geographical locations?

To boot, he resented me because he never had any boys.
My mother would give me the company line. "He's just trying to make a man out of you." Can't tell you how much I pleaded with her about being frightened.
I think they sent out a manual and weekly newsletters back then on how to muck up kid's lives for people like that.
My dad was borderline in some cases, but my mom is the only reason I have half a chance at humanity.

There is a religious book that was put out several years ago that has been credited with kids dying from it. It was called "To Train Up a Child".
My parents had it, and followed it. Don't google if you are affected by traumatic stories. Seriously.

I wouldn't know if they ever saw that.

Ok. I looked....too much was familiar. Been there....My Dad was a minor version of that in some cases, almost that level on extremes. Could go into rage once in a while.
Dear old Step dad was an amplified version of that stuff though. There were some things he couldn't break me of though. That pissed him off even more. Beat the difference between right and left into me. f*****g perv.....
