why dont we boycott wrong planet and go somewhere else until it gets fixed?

I doubt that a boycott will result in the site getting fixed. Alex doesn't seem to much care whether we use his site or not; he hardly ever posts here himself it seems.

I doubt it would get enough participants but I guess we should try because little chance is bettrr then none.

How about a one day boycott on say July 1. We spread the word via our user signature.

That wasnt quite what I had in mind. I was thinking of finding some other forum to chat on and wait patiently till this site gets sorted. I dont thìmk 1 day would make a difference.

It's just so frustrating going to post a reply, realising I've been logged out, having to log in again, find the topic again and post a reply

I want an easier way to talk to you guys.

As far as popups are concerned, are you sure your computer isn't infected with malware or something? The site doesn't serve popups.

I've done a complete erase and install of both my iPhone and iPad, and still have the same issues with pop ups, no matter if I'm using Safari, Firefox or Chrome. I've used several ad blocker apps on both devices, with the same result.

Yep, I just find it funny he blames the user and then a few posts later admits he allows the ads.

ah no, its called troubleshooting. I work on a helpdesk and its amazing how the user can experience something completely different from what you intended.

you tell the user how the program/site is expected to work, they reply with what they're actually seeing.

ah computers gotta love em.

What! How does that work?

The spam is getting worse. I'm so disappointed. I signed up for another autism forum but it's not the same.

Why ain't this being sorted? Please somebody do something? :x :skull:

If this forum is gonna get destroyed by spam, I know the final moments are important, I want to be part of the last impression.

Eh, it's probably off-topic, and I shouldn't have dredged up that old issue (I don't see it happening recently, which is a good thing) - but yes, I have been made to feel unwelcome because apparently I don't come across as 'autistic enough' in my writing style, and therefore don't belong here.

It's an incredibly hurtful attitude that some people hold, clinging to outdated stereotypes, and while I apologize for bringing this topic up, I do believe it's important to stand up for the rights of people with non-stereotypical presentation. No, I don't quite fit in here, but I fit in even less among the neurotypical population, and this is literally the only place where I've ever felt comfortable socializing at all, online or off. So I do appreciate WP, but feel saddened when people try to police the membership, and drive away those of us who were diagnosed as adults, and don't fit the traditional male stereotype of how autism is supposed to present.

But this topic is specifically about spam (oops) - and yes I agree it's getting out of control.

The General Autism Discussion area is completely taken by spam bots. Let's start frequenting the other specific areas of the forum more often, that's the only way.

But what if they get attacked by spam as well?

I have no idea how you appear autistic in your writing ? I have only seen one user where there may be a hint of ASD in their writing but even then it's a leap.

My diagnostic written assessment for autism included such phrases as "...[AspieUtah] provided both a written and verbal account of his developmental history.... [AspieUtah] described a long history.... [AspieUtah's] use of words or phrases tended to be more formal than that of most individuals." And yet, I was diagnosed all the same.

I believe that too many diagnosticians look for low-hanging fruit.

It's one of the more 'welcoming' forums in my opinion (don't ask why)

Because it is the only place all the neurodivergent people can hang out together without the anti-vaxers and haters.

This planet is not wrong, it is perfect. You are part of everything, of the cultures, its content and life. The Neurotypical people did the most of good things and I'm grateful to them and there is no that huge different between us and them, expect that we have some abilities and they have other set of abilities. This is a real heaven, if you can perceive it in the right way. And we are the nature too.

No my system is all a go, the router was changed this year and my pop-ups are off, I'm sure other ways to benefit this sites usage are already under way as well as task planning against all future encryptions from other spam agencies. The cold calling approach springs to mind, maybe you need a better admin anti-virus programme to deal with these small kinds of threats in the future.

I'm not blaming anyone but I need to know what you're referring to in order to help. We don't have traditional popup ads. I guess the issue is not with traditional popups but with mobile ads?

Also, I've added spam filtering.
