I guess I should really clarify what I mean when I say I can't watch you gory films. I can watch a film like Braveheart where they're engaged in a virtuous battle against evil and oppressive empires and such but I wouldn't be able to watch movies likes the Saw series. I guess the real thing that bothers me and causes panic attacks for me is wanton cruelty and sadism. Motive is everything for me in such movies.

This has a lot to do with my inability to make eye contact until I'm sure about the person's intentions towards me. If that person has hostile intentions then I can't look them in the eye. If I have a good friends and I have no problem making eye contact but that's because I know they have no aggressiveness or hostile intentions towards me. In essence a person's motive determines how I will act towards them and this also translates into the type of movies that I enjoy watching or at least can tolerate watching.

Movie gore makes me nauseated and angry at whomever is inflicting it.

I'd rather watch Al Gore.

I have a years-long history of watching gore. One day I thought I'd challenge myself and watch the most ultimate goriest thing I can get my paws on - real life violence on video as perpetrated by ISIS, the Syrian rebels, etc.

Those groups post their killings on various real gore internet sites; nothing is left to the imagination. I saw several close up videos of beheadings and I can now say that no horror movie can ever shock me to the core.

I've might've seen the same videos you're talking about on the real gore sites I go to. Such high quality stuff. Very well done.

Um! I'm not sure you if these are the words you are looking for - I could be wrong ?

What do you mean by "such high quality stuff" and "very well done" ?

There are certain things I rather not get into explaining. This is one of them. I like gore, so these words are right for me.

Yeah I think it desensitised me to horror films but not to the real thing.

mebbe the "well done" remark was referring to cannibalism videos?
in any case, I saw one real beheading and it turned me off of watching any other, to see a human being soil his drawers in shrieking pain and terror, is beyond the pale.

Any real cannibal would know that human meat tastes best medium/rare with some fava beans and a nice Chianti - FfFfFfFfFfFfFfFfFfFfFfFfFf

Like I said earlier I watched the beheading of a UK national by ISIS and I think something inside me broke with regards to watching real life gore videos , they lost all their appeal - which is good.

I'm pretty sure you know what I meant.

If you enjoy watching people get murdered for real, that's pretty messed up. Liking horror movies is one thing, but actually enjoying real murder is something else entirely.

Those were real people, with families who probably would have been rather upset at the idea of someone getting off on the video of their loved one's violent murder. If I were related to one of those American journalists who was beheaded by ISIS it would be bad enough to know that there was video footage out there that people could watch of it, but to know that there were people who watched it because they enjoyed it would make it so much harder to cope with their loss.

Have you ever stopped to think about that, or would thinking about that interfere with your enjoyment of the videos?

Something to ponder.
