Is it weird to see complaints about having to stay inside?

Not particularly. One must remember that many with autism have strong routines, and these strong routines don't necessarily involve staying indoors.

Yup. Not being able to work at the office is really messing with my head, at least for now... I fear that once I finally get used to working from home, it's time to go back!

Plus one of the grannies in the building and I don't like the fact that the local library is closed.

Not really, since I'm going to miss being at work now that we're shut down for at least 30 days. My job is one that couldn't be done from home, so while most employees were already working from home, I still had to go to work. The good thing is that I'm basically now getting paid to stay home, and thanks to social media, I'm able to stay in contact with my friends, both from work and outside of work, as well as family. I'm going for walks around the neighborhood, and even going for bike rides to get exercise in and get some fresh air. The only places I've been to lately are to get takeout from restaurants to keep them in business as they can only have takeout at this point. I went grocery shopping over a week ago, so I don't plan to go again unless it's essential.

For work, we started doing video conferencing. My VP says he's getting really antsy being inside all the time. But I'm fine with it. The quarantine happened at a perfect time for me because I was pretty close to asking my boss if I could start working from home most days because I really don't need to be in the office to do my job, and I hate being in an office. So, perfect timing! :D

I think people should be issued w cards saying 'I'm group A because' then if someone's got an invisible disability which affects their immunity, they're allowed the same 'freedoms' as elderly people.

Yes.

All things equal, seniors have weaker immune systems than everyone else. But not all things are equal. Some seniors are healthier than some children

Disability "discrimination"

Age discrimination

I am self isolating because i have had meningitis in the past and it has left me vulnerable to some infections
my husband has no work at the moment but the company is still paying him so he is going out t get the groceries and stuff while i stay indoors safe

i miss my work as a bus driver and im hoping everything will return to normal sooner rather than later but i,m not complaining because i do love having none of my husbands or my sons friends coming round to the house! :D

That’s how I feel. Like my freedom has been taken from me. Even though I spend most of my time alone in my room.

You May Be an Aspie If...

... the coronavirus crisis gives you the opportunity to finally explain the anxiety, the fear, and the uncertainty you always feel when you are forced to go into crowded public spaces.

... the coronavirus crisis makes you more concerned about your routine being interrupted than about getting sick.

Current events have laid bare many of the things and assumptions we've taken for granted!

The thought of having to stay inside irritates me to no end. It's like putting a chatty Cockney on a canoe in the middle of an ocean and saying, "Have fun!"

The "stay at home" time is proving (albeit slightly) helpful; that is less procrastination, functioning "on the fly" , "by the seat of my pants." Notable improvements in executive-functioning are noticeably helpful day-by-day!

Anybody report similar experiences?

Right now some of them are annoying me cos they're acting like it's the worst part of all this.

On a petty level the worst part is not having food you're used to.

Also serious operations and treatments are being cancelled.

On a not petty level - people are dying… So everything else pales in comparison to that.

It's like how my probably aspie, schizophrenic dad moaned about having tooth ache and the dentist just giving antibiotics. Mum might have gone deaf, granddad didn't have food for days. Have some sense of priority...
