An Ode to WP

If ever you're lonely, in need of a friend,
Remember Wrongplanet ... go on ... hit Send ...
Our Planet is spacious, and understands well,
That life can be torture and life can be Hell.

Climb on aboard and escape the ratrace,
Leave Earth far behind, take that mask from your face ...
A haven to recharge, no worries, no stress,
Just be yerself, there's no-one to impress.

Aunt Blabby and MG, Teach n Fnord,
D&D n fenkis, KK's wolfie roar.
MilkTalk n Istomin, Kitty n Joe,
Angnix n Pepe, he's Aussie y'know! :P

There's DeepHour n sweetleaf, funeral x,
There's Jimmy n Jakki n AA - he's the best!! :jester:
Tim Tex n Amity n Aquafelix,
Enviro, Jlheisho n 1986.

With naturalplastic n roadratt aboard,

To vent or to share...
The Planet awaits,
and we'll meet ye there ...

We’ll fly over the oceans, sail beyond the moon,
SpaceX won’t know what’s hit it, Pieplup launches soon...
As our Wing Commander, Smudge has taught him well,
MartianPrincess, Isabella, even Acton Bell ...

Found his skills impressive, and when he’s at the helm,
Even Sharon B and Cockney, they sense no overwhelm.
AaronHamill smiles at Boo, for he is our hairdresser,
While SuperboyIan says “Come now, absolutely no pressure!”

Lukario is studying our virtual maps,
Plotting our course, while Kraichgauer makes schnapps.
DWaMom says “I need one of those!”,
As Kyle the Ghost whispers “Steady as she goes!”

Eikona n Cyberdad summon Alita,
Usagibrian is happy to meet her.
The Walrus n Techstepp are throwing a glance,
at KK who’s started a charming moondance :jester:

exexZeromancer n Cecil surveying the deck,
Cberg, lostdragon, Greatshield have their pets,
Deepthought’s checking gauges and wishing he’d seen,
Freewaydog’s h’ordeuvres, the cheese is supreme! :chef:

For BSisko cooks up a storm in the Mess,
Grand Inquisitor starts to address,
The outstanding gymroom, with Vexcalibur ...
XFilesGeek knows that the Truth is out thar ... :alien:

Ferraluce, Mrs Peel, n Summertwilight,
They’re handing out cookies, well into the night...
FleaoftheChill greets that1weirdgal,
As Timf declares “The force here is swell!”

Lostonearth’s chilling, unwinding at last,
She’s helping Confusedsloth make sense of the past.
Skiddlebugz, traven, maycontainthunder,
Grac333, Raleigh from downunder.

They all see a future, they’re seeing it still,
As they gaze out the window, they know we can fill ...
The days with a warmth and a care for each one,
Each Wrongplaneteerer, filled with knowledge and fun.

Zeitgeist n Bender, Wolfram n Reap ...
theWhirlwind n Ivpin, the Hour that is Deep,
Music will play as the craft gathers speed,
Mikah n Tusken, AspartofMe.

They call upon Zeitgeist to tell us a joke,
Warrier’s laughing, gives GentArg a poke ...
As he’s drifting off, a satisfied slumber,
He knows that this flight was his lucky number.

Wolfram n Bender are doing the splits :o
While Nuttdan n Alex are watching transfixed.
They never knew just what they were starting,
When WrongPlanet began, that we’d be departing ...

Creating a world where no one is better,
We all make a difference, we chart this together.
GreenOStar, Bradleigh, ironpony,
They knew all along that Acceptance is key.

Skilpadde and Nick double0hseven,
Shaken not stirred, Retrogamer, n Major :salut:
How we couldn’t see it, envision the fuss ...
Of a world minus judgements, ‘tween NT’s n Us.

All we needed was vision n hope, no despair,
Faith that a world we could build would be there...
A future that’s bright, whether gifted or troubled,
Barchan n Drake say their chances have doubled.

WhaleTuune n Teapot n Jamesy n enz,
Roccoslife, sorrowfairie cartwheel n then ...

Tastes like marshmallow, is chewy like toffee ..
Iwannablue quizzes equestriatola,

Trogluddite’s reading The Handmaiden’s Tale,
Velorum from Cornwall is nursing a quail.
DemophobeKlingon is playing guitar,
Adventures in Star Trek n Disney Pixar.

If your name’s not found in this VERY long poem,
Forgive me this once, as fatigue is a growin’ ...
Look for Part 3, for you’ll likely be there ...
In an anime costume, be there or be square ... :jester:

Our wonderful, beautiful talented Juliette, how you have united us all in such a lovely poem!

Firemonkey we adore you just as you are.
You are a hunky monkey
And truly a star

who we all really cherish
whose posts we do relish

I'm sure they wouldn't want me either, although I never looked into it myself. I just kind of assume so.
Anyway, I am in academia, so I get my fair share of that good nerd community just by coming into work.

If you can even post this, you are not useless at real life. Your life is your own. Staying alive is useful in real life. Also, you r not useless in real life if you help others in some way. Even if you post a nice comment, you r useful.

I have a family member who went through this, has a genius IQ, joined Mensa etc, to find other like-minded people. He felt uncomfortable by their behaviour. I don’t know why, but I’ve long wound up drawn to very high IQ men and their families are usually very dysfunctional, though they themselves have great success stories to tell. On a grand scale! They definitely come across as highly arrogant at times, though they have no awareness of how they present. I’m yet to find anyone who’s intelligent, who has not had a very troubled life in some way. Mental health issues seem dominant. They all have a soft side though, and beneath it all, are very vulnerable.

I used to think I had a very high IQ—but when I took IQ tests as an adult, I scored very commonly.

Apparently I have a lot in common with people with high IQs, except the intellect. ;)

Aha ... there you go ... this explains so much! You have an aura about you, KK 8). It’s a good one :). I imagine most people would score differently from day to day, depending on circumstances. IQ matters little in comparison to common sense and heart, of course.

Due to the virus issues, someone phoned up a local hardware store and asked "Is the queue large?" The reply came "It's the same size as the B".

I’ve certainly been humbled over the course of my life.

I used to want to be the next Jack Kerouac/Allen Ginsberg.

Aghoday (Spelling?) is very much like Walt Whitman with Abstract-Expressionist tendencies.
