I'm supposed to be some sort of genius at language/linguistics/etymology etc, but unfortunately it doesn't help with learning foreign languages since I have a terrible memory!

I guess I have brains, but no appreciable talents. Nothing to show off, you know what I mean?

Someone once told me to go back to the first time I ever dreamed - wished - to *become* someone or thing...and the one thing I always really wanted to do since I was little...and that would lead me to my hidden gift....the one everyone's born with....

As far as I can tell, I have no gift.

I consider my ability to draw people's attention a gift. I know that sounds NT, but a lot of NTs have an Aspie-like obsession with attention...

I used to have a good memory until I stopped going to sleep. I think I still have traces of it, but it's probably not as good as back when I had that neuropsychologist diagnose me. It wasn't for autism though. But I still have talents in art and math.

My great gift seems to be memorizing huge amounts of information, and regurgitating it to people, whether they want to hear it or not. I am also extremely good at argument. People tend to come around to my viewpoint, even when I turn out to be wrong. I can be incredibly persuasive.

Another minor gift is the ability to not give a damn about the rest of the world. A lot of people claim that they don't care what other people think about them. The vast majority of these people are deluded, and easily demonstrated as such.

Probably just means you haven't found it yet. I was doing poorly in band until, just for laughs, I switched from the cool trumpet to the uncool tuba. I was hooked instantly, and took off running.

My advice? Try a few new things... experiment. You might find yourself shocked at what you find you're good at!

There's a gift and a curse in one sentence; got both.

My earnestness...

People give me the job of selling the slightly dodgy ideas, because they know I have a reputation (and a public persona) of not BS-ing.

...It also means that my attempts at self-deprecating humour have been singularly unsuccessful.
