I think Sophie from music and Lyrics is not an aspie..she is just sorta right-brained/akward/creative/but still NT....(you can be right brained/akward/creative-but still NT)..

i also don't Shrek is an aspie just because he is a non-conformist hermit.

that is just my 2cents...it may ot necc. be so.

TV series - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The character Giles is the one who is a good candidate for Asperger. Haven't date and yet his social with woman is like almost non-existant. He a book worms. On top of that, he was lacking empathy when he was working with Buffy.

Movie - As Good As It Gets

Jack Nicholson was a great actor for the character that have serious case of OCD. It pretty much illustrates what a person with OCD really do. He unwrapped and dumped the soap bar everytime he washed his hand. He have like cabinet filled with soap bars. He jump over the crack in the sidewalk everytime. Asperger does have OCD but I was wondering whether any of this similar?

I know there were movie characters and real life people like Saddam Hussien who obsess about cleaning their cups and everything that they touch.

Movie - Pirates of the Silicon Valley

True Story.

Bill Gate might have Asperger Syndrome but the movie was about the time when Bill Gate and Steve Jobs were working together.

Movie - Digger

There wasn't much from the boy's personality that I remember except everytime he get into trouble, he dig into the ground with his shovel. He would go on and on digging. Thus he was nicknamed "Digger". The movie is kind of old as in the 80's or later so don't think it "Diggers" '06 movie.

Movie - October Sky

True Story.

The movie about boys building a rocket and made it into the Championship in World Sciences. There that one actor who did a perfect job playing the character named "Quentin". His personality, reaction, emotion and his life in school pretty much illustrates Asperger Syndrome. He didn't have any friend at first until Homer Hickam the character that started the Rocket project. When he approached Quentin, his replied was "I don't want anybody copying my homeworks". In classroom, he was talking and talking about the science discussion regarding the Sputnik at the day it was launched until the classmates threw paper ball at him and yelling "shutup!". He look nerdy and you have to see the rest of the movie. It a great movie. Imagine if he didn't exist, there wouldn't be movie or team of boys with rocket project. Which remind me of another topic that I will be posting.

Intense area of interest: assassination skills. Why couldn't an Aspie make an ultimate assassin?

I'm pretty sure that Johnny Depp is AS, after seeing him on The Actor's Studio, I thought this was definitely the case. So, I think he is naturally attracted to these types of characters.

Real Genius is full of them.

Most of the characters that I relate to have been in books. Anita Blake, Burke...these are the stuffs that AS relates to.

But every now and again, I meet one in a movie. Monty Python, definitely.

That's one of my favorite movies!! Does anyone else think she might have Asperger's? That would explain my connection with the movie. What about Amelie?

I thought about saying Amelie, but then I decided not to. Of what I've seen of French cinema, it doesn't seem unusual for a character to exaggerate being odd or strange or etc. :)

I think she's very aspie! :D . I'm a big fan of her other work too. When you see her being interviewed it becomes very apparent that she is very much like her character in real-life. She has alluded to sensory issues in a couple of interviews as well. M&Y&EWK is so beautiful to me and displays such a genuine love of people and their foibles. Like all her work. I love how her characters all make such an effort to connect with each other, despite the obvious pain that they feel. This movie helped me though a very difficult time in my life (2005)..

Oh, and welcome to WP! livinglearning :D it's good to have you here!
