The bible won't cure it but it will make you feel happier in yourself you can't just read the bible and treat it like some magic book that is wrong you have believe in God and have faith in God and I have a list of some of my quirks and I prayer over ever since then I have started to feel better and feel good in myself I know I still a way to go for me to be fully cured but I believe it.

I'm a catholic christian, and I have read the bible.
I still have AS, but I never expected bible reading to change that. ;) And no one has ever suggested to me that it could.
Reading something can't change anything other than your opinion. It can't change AS any more than it would regrow an arm.

Read it if you want religion, but don't expect it to get rid of AS.

God made you the way you are, it's not a curse that he'll lift if you're pious.

Christians think reading the bible will cure anything.

Most religions have people that think like that, I was in a mosque one day and someone was having mental health problems, so they put the Koran over her head. It didn't help and even though you could SEE it wasn't helping, the people said it did.

Not being Islamophobic or anything (well, other than the fact that I dislike it to the same extent I dislike Christianity and Judaism), but he got off lightly: people have had the s**t knocked out of them or even died in the name of exorcising 'Djinn'.

I think the word cure is not very useful or correct. I think the word "treatment" is better, and that it is important, as i said already, to consider the various aspects of the symptom cluster called aspergers separately, after which it is possible to say that certain elements of aspergers might be susceptible to "therapy", notably some of the cognitive functions, IF they are experienced as a problem.
Perhaps the mental construct of belief in god might be useful to alter ones framework of experience to reduce the burden of "live" and/or ambiguous data processing, the pressure of attributing agency/cause satisfactorily when insufficient or conflicting info available, etc which some/many people with aspergers find particularly difficult. And which may contribute to overload.

How many people on WP found themselves significantly more able to deal with/handle a "normal" life after discovering active religious belief, NOT just mechanically reading the bible or attending bible class because family suggested it, but a real belief in god?

Actually, I don't think it would even give people a different perspective unless they really "dug" it. Reading a book - even the bible - as a read of stories does very rarely changes the reader.

Well, if you take a God-Centric view of things then yes... He/She/It/They would have created all things good and bad. I've often said that;

I think I believe in God but I'm just not sure if God is friendly.

Maybe god is as loving as a writer is towards the book they're writing. Of course there's different kinds of writer. But even if i only have a worms eye view on the matter "this" ( "world") doesn't feel like an airport book. More like Middlemarch, Wuthering Heights, Frankenstein, or Great Expectations. :)

It hasn't cured my AS, but it does help me to cope.

There is no AS cure in that book. nor does it predict the future.(anyone heard of the bible code thing?).

I have watched a show that featured an exorcist type person that was driving demons out by hitting people in the head with his bible (at least that is what he said he was doing). the peoples that went to him usually just had a run of bad luck and felt like they were possessed. He would only pick out the people that believed in demons in that sense, or looked like that believed.
