You probably don't want to hear me but.

A part of me hated myself for being an asperger. It made me feel weak, and naive. As a child, I was raped 8 times and didn't know it. I was angry at myself for not reporting it and never figureing it out. I just figured it out this morning.

I'm always an easy target, for bullying, rape and theft. I'm very easy to take advantage of.

Ever had this problem:

I walked up to these two girls who needed help with their assignment. I offered to assist but they just looked at each other, laughed and walked away.

People say I'm smart, but I'm going to prove them wrong with my 96 I.Q.(My psychoanalyst test) When I beleived them I actually acted like a smart ass, acting like a know-it-all just for the sake of attention. When people cheat off my answers off a test. I feel useful. when i act like a know-it-all, people look at me as stuck up. I didn't know was being as such. When I found out that my behavior pointed to the disorder, I went to bed and cried my eyes out. Calling myself names, like "freak" "ret*d" "dummy" I even planned my suicide, but never acted on it. I heard of a cure and I really wanted this cure, even if I risk losing my own life..(right now I'm not sure.)

You want to say something to the other students but it feels like that no one ever listens to you.

I tried reading books on how to make friends, but they proved useless, I feel like I did something wrong. Maybe I did. I did all the thing the other kids did to get attention, silly things. If someone ran naked across the school football field, I'd do the same thing. If kids are picking on the fat kid, i'd do the same, but I never picked on anyone before.

Every day, I walk around campus looking at the floor, hating myself and the whole world. I wanted something bad to happen like a school shooting, or a plane crash. I looked back and asked myself why I never died of lead poison.

It's very hard to grow up and suck it up. You guys seemed to like being an AS, but I just wondered why.

I know you don't want to hear me but this is the truth. Now I'm going to bed and I'm going to cry my eyes out again
------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was why I asked the question. I was reading articles on how much Aspies hated Nt's, I wonder why. They liked being an aspie. I don't mwan to stereotype or label anyone, it's just all this stuff I read. and I look at myself.

I'm sorry for venting....

The vent wasn't why I posted. I look at myself and ask what makes me so great. I'm not rich, I'm not cool.

That's a sh**ty way to have to grow up. You don't just hate your AS, you hate all of you. It's a common reaction to the abuse you got growing up. You're going to have to get some serious professional help to get through this or you're going to hate pretty much everyone you meet.

People rape kids and tell the kids it's their fault, they're bad people, don't tell or <insert scary claim> will happen, etc. Having AS and the variations in the thinking makes it worse. Your emotional reactions to all of that are magnified, plus your mind won't let go of any of it until you know WHY it happened.

Get a psychiatrist asap who specializes in helping adults with AS and open up as well as you can. If your employer has an employee assistance program, use it. Your boss will not know what's said in the meetings.

I hope you can get enough of this worked out to make life better for you.

Right on. We're generally comfortable with ourselves, having strong opinions while most people need outside affirmation. Since there are more of them, they make us feel bad about our peaceful solitude. I am not a social creature...

A label that defines a set number of behavioural symptoms in various morphologies and severities; a severe developmental disability in comparison to those without it.

It has some "strengths"; all of which are tied to its weaknesses.

WRONG.

I know, because I have made amazing strides in becoming almost neurotypical. If you could speak to my psychologist, she would tell you the same thing. It takes an enormous effort. It takes years and a lot of failure to become almost neurotypical.

The first step in becoming almost neurotypical is to tell yourself the way you think and act is not beneficial to your overall happiness. That is difficult, painful, and something 99% of people with AS are not willing to do.

I understand that there are benefits to having AS. But the disadvantages clearly outweigh the advantages.

Dude I hate to say it...but you remind me of Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit- a self-hating Toon.

Why would you WANT to be like "everybody else"? What makes you think they're any happier with their lives overall than those of us with AS?

Remember- I wasn't even diagnosed with AS until I'd already left high school...and only THEN because my career counselor had a chat with my psychiatrist...who otherwise saw no other real reason to even bring it up- 'heck if I know why.

Y'know, everything in life I've ever wanted...I have it now- well, almost; I just need to make a few truckloads of money, and become really rich and powerful- but I have everything else in my life that I could possibly want: I currently work a job I really enjoy, and got two raises immediately( guaranteed my AS focus at work helped me with that), I'm a very well known figure in the online toy community, and I love it. I have a great social life with friends who really care about me. And not only do I have a sweet, beautiful, EXTREMELY understanding girlfriend...SHE CHOSE ME!! !! ! Oh yeah- I also own my own business, and it's about to be launched soon, and not only are my business partner and I doing a Youtube commercial for it, we're also getting free publicity from a very well known toy site( of course for that, I simply have to do weekly Area Reports for the site...which is ironically how I met the guy who offered me the assignment to begin with), AND from the Discover network.

So, I don' know where you get this malarky about people with AS not being able to TRULY be happy unless they tell themselves they're worthless unless being a NT, but I have a great life regardless of it....and part of me even thinks AS has contributed in a lot of good ways. :)

Speaking of that, the world abounds with neurotics (and worse) who are far from being autistic, and still are woefully miserable. Some prefer to stuck in a quagmire of their own making and wallow in their dissatisfaction with themselves and everything else, others just have no clue how to make themselves happy. Not being autistic does not save them from feeling wretched.

Oh, and there is no such species as "neurotypical".

I've always had the ability, not to be influenced, by my peers.
