I guess, if I think about it, mine isn't very friendly looking. I don't know if it would bother anyone. Feel free to comment.

I think that yours does look friendly, and strong. The guy in your avatar appears to be fighting for America's freedom.

Thanks, yours reminds me of a happy-go-lucky type of person.

I'm bothered by avatars occasionally, but it's no big deal. I ad-block plenty of avatars.

I do wonder if certain avatars that stand out get a lot more attention thus getting more postal replies from other users. Maybe I should change mine, it's smaller than most people's.

Actually, mine is the starman logo that is used by the band Rush. The red star symbolizes collectivism and the naked man represents the abstract individual attempting to fend it off. I hope no one is offended by it, because I personally see him kinda like one of us and he is trying to fend off the persecution of NTs. :)

Avatars say different things.

Like, "Don't mess with me, I'm tough."

Or, "I'm beautiful." (I prefer those.)

Or "I'm smart."

Or "I'm weird."

Or "I'm friendly."

Or "I'm funny." (Sometimes, I think, we don't get the joke and see it as an "I'm weird.")

People choose their avatars to make a statement about who they are.

I treat them the same way I treat people. I avoid the tough, the angry, the hostile......and gravitate toward the beautiful and the funny.

Your new avatar reminds me of the books I would read in my childhood, Arbie! 8)

I usually don't have a picture of myself as an avatar, but a few other people seem to have gotten away with it here so I've followed suit.

Danielismyname- I have always liked your avatar photograph.. it reminds me of trent reznor.

As far as Jawbroght's --- it reminds me of 'snakeeyes' from GI Joe, unmasked. my favorite character.

Some avatars annoy me a little, but I don't think I've ever been intimidated by them.

Hit the Esc. key or adblock it.

I remember that quite a few people used to be creeped out my Nomaken's avatar. Haven't seen it for a while, mind.
And a fair few people have expressed discomfort when presented with my lipstick-smeared avatars of old.

Nomaken's avatar is still active if you dig through the member list....Nomaken however doesn't seem to be active on WP anymore.

Last year there was someone using pornographic images as his avatar and he was eImagecommunicated in very short order and he also banned off of AFF.
Whenever I see an annoying avatar I simply Ad-block it.

You look good, Hector.

Takes courage to put your picture on the internet!

:)

Yes, great courage. And, at times, profound stupidity.

That's you?

Wow, you're really nice looking! I'm not trying to flirt, I just thought it was a younger picture of Orlando Bloom or somebody like that :P

What books did you like to read? *Has a random image of Peter Pan :P*

For some reason, your avatar creeps me out too...I guess I'm just a scaredycat :P
I just want to think of you as somebody other thing a vampire, which gets my obsessive thoughts going about the feeling of a vampire sucking the blood out of my veins...(sorry)
