I'm willing to play by the rules here, but let's be honest - this is not about "the kids", its about their parents. Most of us know, if we can remember back to when we were kids, that neither cable TV, satellite radio, R/X/NC-17-rated movies, nor the internet have anything more shocking or offensive than what kids hear all the time on the playground. The "kid-friendly" rules are for parents who wish to believe otherwise.

Actually, when I grew up, such talk was ILLEGAL!! !! !!
To say on TV or radio, NOT in private.

A radiostation or TV station caught doing it could be fined, sanctioned and, possibly, LOSE THEIR LICENSE!
I realize that's true, but it still doesn't change the fact that kids were always kids, and always used the most obscene words that they knew, told the most sexually explicit stories they could imagine, and generally said whatever would generate the greatest shock effect around other kids.
You're right about all that, but it didn't seem like young kids knew about all that. Even some CONCEPTS seemed more abstract to them. Frankly, I don't remember hearing anything sexually explicit at that age.
